"Hey It's Halloween!" (new)

Make up my 'work in progress' first album.
I hope to finish the album with 10 songs total.

The music is a style I call Music/Theater fusion.
Something I've been experiencing in lately as they combine my love for the two art forms.
'I am Lost My Love'and Movin' On are not in that style however..

Other projects are the completion of my musicals. I have lately started the process of producing the musicals in 'Radio Play' format using sound effects such as in the music/theater examples above.
I hope that when completed my 'radio play' style productions will inspire other playwrights and screen-writers who are struggling to get their projects produced, an inexpensive and viable alternate to traditional production methods.

I've added a couple of songs from musicals i've written. "I'am Lost My Love" from O'Brien's Roost.
And "Lady Blue" still in instrumental form, from the musical "Loveland".

Almost as an after thought I added a 'holiday' song I wrote for some co-workers at a grocery store I used to work at..It's called, "Home Town Market" and is also in the Music/Theater style..

Good luck to all, i am hearing a huge amount of talent on this site.

Steve (Loose canon productions)

lyrics for "I am lost my love"

In the broken light of dawn
I watched the morning sun go rolling by
And I couldn't help but think of your wind swept hair
The way your stare hypnotized my mind

Where are you today? Oh I wonder if you still care
Will I ever be alright? Without your arms holding me tight,
I'm lost my love

Thinking back when it began
And the way that we started out as friends
Every day you filled my eyes and each precious night, a new suprise

I know those days are gone, but I can't get them out of my head
This life must go on, but inside I'am feeling such dread
With out your love, with out your love

Now and then I'll close my eyes
And watch the memories go floating by
Sure enough I'll find you there, in some happy time when life's despair was so far away

Where are you today? Oh I wonder if you still care
Will I ever be alright? With out your arms holding me tight,
I'm lost my love, I'm lost my love

"Lady Blue" is a song from the musical Loveland. It is in instrumental format so the lyrics are as follows:

Just a little time with you
Goes a long, long way
And it might not be right, but it's true
I can't lose the thought of loving you

I can't help myself, my heart beats double time
I can't help myself, your're forever on my mind
I can't stop myself from wanting you
Or feeling like I do, lady blue

Just a moments gaze in your eyes
Told me all I needed to know
And it should come to you as no suprise
The day I met you I knew I'd love you so

I can't help myself, my heart beats double time
I can't help myself, your forever on my mind
I can't stop myself from loving you
Or feeling like I do, lady blue
Lady blue, lady blue

Lyrics for "Motorcycle Rider"The Dude)
"Hey dude, I can see ya kickin that pig all the way cross the road man

You ain't never goin ah get that bitch ta start

Dem things is notorious for carbon on the valves man

Yep, carbon on the valves, you can pump that hog all day it ain't never goin ta start!"

(Motorcycle rider)
"Why don't you just back the fuck up and give me a little room"

(The Dude)
"Oh! Now that right there, that's what I'm talkin about

That bitch got you all stressed out dude

You look like you about to stroke out man!

You need ta off load that pig man and get you one ah dem rice burners!

Them things fire up every time man! Every time, every time, every time!

Tell you what dude, I'm gonna help you out

You go ahead and load that piece of shit on my truck

and I'll give you fifty bucks to take it off your hands

Shit I'll have ta break the piggy bank for that kind of coin!!

You'll take quarters right?"

(Bike starts)

(The Dude)
"What? Where you goin man? You comin back right?

Hey, we had a deal man!"

I am a motorcycle rider finding freedom in an unfree land

one down and four up is the only math I give a damn

I love knuckle heads, raked forks, overhead cams

sissy bars, rigid frames and oily hands

Cuz I am a motorcycle rider finding freedom in an unfree land

(Motorcycle rider)
"That's what I'm talkin about"

I can shift with out a clutch, I can wheelie at a hundred and ten

Doin' donuts round the parking lot really impresses my friends

When the weekend comes we'll be ridin' together

Flyin' our colors all wrapped in leather

Cuz we're motorcycle riders finding freedom in an unfree land

(The Dude)
"Oh yeah right. You just gonna ride off now?

What about our deal man?

God damn pinko liberal commie fuck!

Shit! Almost had me a purty motor scooter for fifty bucks."

I am a motorcycle rider finding freedom in an unfree land

one down and four up is the only math I give a damn

I love knuckle heads, raked forks, overhead cams

sissy bars, rigid frames and oily hands

Cuz I am a motorcycle rider finding freedom in an unfree land
(repeats)

(The Dude)
"Hey what you mean by that 'unfree land shit' dude?

You in America man!

Land of the free! Home of the Brave!

You ain't one ah those anti-american's is you?

Damn dude you better what'ch what you say

Dem "Homeland security" dawgs gonna show up and bust yer cap!"

Lyrics for "Voodoo Blues"

ON SAFARI IN THE JUNGLE MIST
I TOOK VACATION WITH A BIT OF A TWIST
NOW I DON'T BELIEVE I WAS MADE FOR THIS

I SAW A LION KILL A MAN TODAY
THE NATIVES MOURNED HIS SOUL AND CARRIED HIM AWAY
THEY BURNED HIS BODY, BUT I SWEAR SOMETHING ROSE UP AND WALKED AWAY

A BLOOD RED MOON ROSE TO THE CHANTING
IN A FEVER PITCH THEY DID THEIR DANCING
WHILE THE JUNGLE SCREAMED LIKE A NIGHTMARE DREAM ALL TOO MUCH ALIVE

OH VOODOO GODS I'D SELL MY SOUL TONIGHT
IF YOU'D JUST LET ME GET BACK TO THE CITY
I CAN'T RECALL WHEN I'VE HAD SUCH A FRIGHT
ARE THOSE SHRUNK HEADS FOR REAL? CAN'T WE MAKE SOME KIND OF DEAL?

WATCHING SHADOWS ALONG THE LINE
I STIR THE ASHES BUT THE FIRES FINE
I'M JUST COLD AND SCARED, WISHING I WAS HOME TODAY

I FELT A SHIVER RIPPLE THROUGH MY SPINE
THE WITCH DOCTOR PRESSED HIS FACE TO MINE
IN A FAR OFF STARE HE TOUCHED MY GOLDEN HAIR AND SAID IT WAS SO FINE

THROUGH THE NIGHT THE DRUM BEATS THUNDERED
THE AIR TURNS COLD, THE WIND GROWS BOLDER
I MISS YOU GIRL, AND WISH YOU WEREN'T SO FAR AWAY
(repeat chorus)

....Yes it's true all you fine folks are to be congradulated and accomodated as model citizens of not only our town, but as model American citizens all across our blessed country!
(cheers)
...........Are we not among the first to fight back and get dangerous intersection cameras installed in our town? (cheers)
I'm pleased to anounse that revenue of over 3 hundred thousand dollars in fines has been generated since that monumental law has passed!

......Are we not amoung the first to fight back and stop the discusting niotene addicts in their tracks with our "No Smoking in El Cajoan" campainge?

(cheers)............Because of our efforts we will attract the new age American citizen to our town. Clean Americans! (cheers) Vice free Americans! (cheers)....Law abiding Americans! (cheers).......

(Reporter) "Mister Mayor, Mister Mayor if i may.....Does this mean that merchants in our fair ciry should also "get on the band wagon" and support your resent victory against cigarette smoking and stop selling these decadent products with in our borders, mister Mayor?

Mayor

Now whoa just a minute there boy!.....Let us not lose sight of the bigger picture here!..
What may I ask makes our city strong?....Revenue!...Revenue to maintain the roads you drive on, revenue to provide schools to educate our children, revenue to attract big corporate business to come here and do business, which in turn generates...revenue!
(Cheers)
...Those "decadent" products generate sales tax revenue that support the network of services we provide for our citizens sir!....The idea of adding more revenue via the "fines" collected by law brakers that use those outlawed products increases? what?.....REVEnue!

(Cheers)

I have a vision my fellow El Cajoan'ians....A vision our fair city will become the model by which all cities in America will follow. We must be bold! We must blaze the trail! We stopped the noise pollution by shutting down the speedway! We stopped the air pollution by ending cigarette smoking!
Today will mark a new era in the march to a better America. I propose a law that will be a major step in our fight for clean air, and clean living! A law so remarkable, so bold, it will blaze a trail my fellow citizens! It will blaze a trail that cannot be denied! ...........Hit it boys!

Music starts for "El Cajoan"

There'll be no more fartin allowed in El Cajoan
El Cajoan is now officially a no fart zone

You better store it up, till you get back home
We got high tech sniffers and we'll bust you with ease
Then Slap a fine, or lock you up, and throw away the keys!

No, we won't stand for fartin here in El Cajoan (chorus echo) "No more fartin in El Cajoan"
Take it to Deigo and we'll leave you alone (chorus echo) "No more fartin in El Cajoan"

Lakeside, La Mesa, or even Santee
Go anywhere but El Cajoan before you cut the cheese!
Cuz theres no more fartin in El Cajoan
Cajoan is officially a no fart zone (chorus echo) "Cajoan is officially a no fart zone"

Music tone down as farmer speaks with chorus in background "no more fartin in El Cajoan" repeating chorus

chorus fades out..........music background continues

Mayor: "Remember the bigger picture now, revenue, revenue, revenue...........Sell them cabbage, sell them onions, sell them beans! Sell, sell, sell! Ha, ha, ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Cheers)

(Fart sound)

Mayor: What?....I heard that!....(Fart sound)
Right there! There he goes! Get him boys!
(police action sounds)

Lyrics for "We Are The Lucky Ones"

I need a break today....
Can't wait no longer for the weekend to come
Seems like lately I am all out of answers...
When any body asks me what I do for fun....

I need a break to today
High cost of living keeps me under the gun
Can't help but wonder if there will ever come a time
When stretching my last dollar ain't the first thing on my mind

Yeah I know what your gonna' say...
Freedom don't come easy and it's my turn to pay
Loafing is for losers.. ..idleness a sin,
Don't want to hear no bullshit about the state I'm in..

We are the victum's of...
Expectations of our own society...
We are the lucky ones..
We got the vision and, we got the means to change our world..

I need a break today
Try an take it easy, rest my head for awhile
Call me gone fishin, for a happy disposition
Maybe I'll get lucky with a lugger of a smile

I need a break to day
Conforming to the rat race keeps a man on the run
How did living easy founder so far out of style?
When did I sign up to run this marathon mile?

(Repeat bridge and chorus)

Lyrics for "The Grunion Run"

I race the pale moon down the Silver Strand
While watching the Grunion run

Beside the red warm glow of campfire they came
Risking death to spawn their young

Anxious boys and girls roast marshmallows by the fire
With pant legs rolled to the knee

While Father's trusty spotlight painted
Bright dots apon the sea..

Where are the fish tonight?
I know their not going to show
There's less and less every year, and more and more of us here..
Drinking our beer...Out on the Grunion run...

As the falling Moon sat perched apon the sea
The Grunion made their run

A will to survive against pretatory drives
A little war man won in fun

Their just a fish you say, and hurray!
I am fetching the rake, I'll get the biggest take
Can't stand the taste of one, but it's so much fun...
Out on the Grunion run

Lyrics for Strap Me A Rocket All Across My Back:

Drove into town as the sun went down, Glued to the rear view mirror
Doin 7-5 in a 65......everybody runnin up my rear

Somewhere holds a place with a little grace, a let loose of the peace in my mind

Think I'll head on over to the White Cliffs of Dover, beg my way with a cheerful line...

Strap me a rocket all across my back, point it at the moon for all I care
Want to merge together with the birds of a feather, breathing life in the cool clean air..

Don't want to say it's not a beautiful way, cultivating family and friends
I believe it too, but sticking to the groove, is a place in life I've already been..

Some people say it's a dangerous way, If you stumble it's a long way to fall
Life inherits risk, if you hit or if you miss, you ain't shootin you got no life at all

Strap me a rocket all across my back, take my chances on how long the thing will run
Tired of movin over, living life on the shoulder, in the shadow of a setting sun

I need a place with a little grace, somewhere holding peace of mind

Gonna head on over to the White Cliffs of Dover, beg my way with a cheerful line

Strap me a rocket all across my back, short cut the count down to one
Want to catch the glow of the deep dark flow, check out the universe before I am done

"Hey It's Halloween!"

Early in the evening, straight through the black of night
Slow churned hours of Halloween, gripped my soul in fright
Nibbling on white knuckles, rolled up into a fist
Waiting for the risen ones, appearing in the mist

Dragging their dead feet across the dew drops on my lawn
I know I'll find no peace of mind until November's morn
Tapping on my windows, beating thunder on my door
Searching in the moon glow entrance at the basement floor

"Hey it's Halloween! Why don't you come on out and play?
Join the celebration for those of us who passed away
Three hundred sixty five full days of hunger and of thirst
You know, you should feel special, your the one we thought of first"

Searing pain, splintered wood thrust dead hands through my door
Quick thawed frozen fear poured down my pant leg to the floor
Six inch broken blackened nails sunk deep into my flesh
As they quarrel dividing portions I backed up to save the rest

Crutching to the banister I make the second landing fall
Their pouring through the windows I realize futility in it all
So I crouch most patiently a corner of a room
Nothing but a bedroom door between me and lusting doom

"Hey it's Halloween! Why don't you come on out and play?
Join the celebration for those of us who passed away
Three hundred sixty five full days of hunger and of thirst
You know, you should feel special, your the one we thought of first"

"Before you show us your disgust, then turn your head away
Remember in a little while, you'd be joining us some day
We think you owe some homage to the ones that came before
So, simply pay your due respect and twist the handle on the door"

"Hey it's Halloween! Why don't you come on out and play?
Join the celebration for those of us who passed away
Three hundred sixty five full days of hunger and of thirst
You know, you should feel special, your the one we thought of first"

Movin' On
From high up in the mountains, to down the valleys low
Theres a chain of discontentment, follows where I go

And I want to change, yea, I want to change
But I don't know how

So I'll keep movin' on, cause movin' on, will fix it for now

Fancy freedoms when your younger, you'll die lonely when your old
Remember summer lasting forever, when did winter turn so cold?

And I can feel the change, yea, I feel the change
But I can't stop now
So, I'll keep movin' on, cause movin' on, will fix it for now

Star light, star bright, where are you tonight?
Star light, star bright, where are you tonight?

Out of all my desperate lovers, not one friendship did I sew
Burning bridges as you cross them
Leaves one direction, down the road

And I want to change, yea, I want to change
But I don't know how

So I'll keep movin' on, cause movin' on, will fix it for now
Will fix it for now

Star light, star bright, where are you tonight?
Star light, star bright, where are you tonight?

Motorcycle rider made me laugh haha. You have a talent for writing off the wall songs that would sound great in tv/commercials and video games. I also hear alot of pink floyd/david bowie type influences. Enjoyed my stay. Voted 5.
