Ashka has always had a love of music since singing in the choir at the young age of four. Her style is a collection of many different genres, all mixed and re-mixed into one. When you listen to her music “your going to get a little bit of R&B, a little bit of Hip-Hop, a little bit of jazz, alternative and even rock” as described by the aspiring singer herself. It is a combination of sultry vocals added to heart pumping beats along with self written lyrics. When her sound hits the streets, everyone will want to jump up and move to the groove. Her music has been greatly influenced by the likes of Aaliyah, Vivian Green, Timbaland, and Janet Jackson. “She [Janet Jackson] is just a phenomenal performer, I watch her and I just want to do what she’s doing,” Says the hard-working vocalist. “I want to be like her, with fans singing my songs and screaming my name.”
Ashka has rocked the state at various singing competitions. She made it to the semi-finals at the Carolina Idol and the 101.9 kiss FM Singing Sensation, blazed the stage in the annual Cystic Fibrosis Telethon, and even auditioned for American Idol. She is soon to blow out competitions across the nation.
