The Band
Biography
This dream has been a long time in the making!! I (Buster) have been singing since I was 16, getting my start at Hoots Pub in Amarillo on amateur night singing 'You look So Good in Love' and 'The Cowboy Rides Away' with singer/songwriter James Davis playing the guitar. From there I started performing at the Big Texan Steak Ranch Opry. I was just a solo act for the longest time until my long time high school friend Justin Mays came back to Amarillo after being gone with the Navy for 5 years. Justin had been stationed out of Virgina Beach, Virgina and had a successful solo career writing songs and playing Acoustic Rock. Upon his return to the Texas Panhandle, he began teaching me to play the guitar and we discussed trying to get a band together. he has now being deployed to Iraq and we miss him greatly! As for our drummer Doug Ecker, I have known Doug since highschool. We hung out sporatically and became great friends. Doug joined the Army National Guard, and has returned to A-Town! Doug has played with a couple of garage bands and is doing awesome! We finally added a new lead guitar player!! Geoffry McCaslin is from Canyon, among other places and has a blues and rock background. He has played in a couple of bands and has also done studio work. He has added a whole new dimension to the band! As for our bad ass bass player, Stevon Cole has stepped in that position and is working magic. These guys make up the West Texas Wind!! I can't thank these guys enough! Without them, this dream of mine would have never happend! I will forever be indebted to them. THANKS GUYS! Also, thanks to all the wives, children, families, and friends who have helped us out along the way! We couldn't have done it without any of you! And a special thanks to my wife/photographer Misty for taking all the new pics for us. Can't wait to see y'all at the shows!
