Biography
Music is my life. From the first song I ever heard and onwards I knew that it was something I had to do. Like a moth to a flame, music was something I was always interested in, if I didn't know the lyrics to a song I would simply make them up as I went along. It wasn't till I was ten years old that one genre got me really interested, the ability to be able to say what you want and how you feel about anything no matter how controversial was why I had so much respect for it. Of course I'm talking about hip-hop. It was something that I felt I could relate to. The struggles of everyday life on the streets had such an impact on me. The gang violence and taking drugs was something I knew about already. At the time I was living in Lochore and still am, I have seen some of the exact things going on as it said on a rap song.In a way it seemed to almost glamourise the subjects being spoken in the songs. Drive by shootings and toting AK-47s to me seemed cool. I got older and more mature and realised this is not any way to live your life.Years later I was heavily into rock music and thus ended up forming a band with some childhood friends, we called ourselves The Hoodsy Project. We made two independent albums, "New You" and "The Only Choice". Our first album was classed as indie-rock, while our second was rap/metal/dance. Being part of a band was great, making your own songs, writing your own lyrics, hearing yourself on a cd absoloutelty thrilled me, playing live was amazing, such a great time in my life. But soon the band split, with me and Craig being the two lead singers and writers we didn't always see eye to eye, one time it became so heated we started throwing punches and that was the end of "The Hoodsy Project".A year later I found the way forward to my music, going back to the one genre I felt I could truly be part of, hip-hop. Flowing and making beats by myself is not the easiest thing to do, in a band you get other people's opionon's, by yourself is a different matter but you still know when you've recorded something good, you feel it when the track is complete and you play it back, that warm fuzzy feeling inside you. Angelz & Gunz made me feel like that, a track that I knew I had created something real and gripping. People loved it, on the internet and on the streets. I love the feeling when someone says " hey I love your new song" that is a great feeling and now being involved with music is something I'll always be part of
