KingIssachar
Biography
Carl Pennycook aka KingIssachar, the last child of 6, to parents Mr and Mrs Winston Pennycook.

KingIssachar grew up in Westmoreland Jamaica and from an early age was performing in the church. The earliest breakthrough came by KingIssachar performing in the Colgate Cavity Fighter’s Club in Jamaica where he recited a poem called “Apple Trees”. KingIssachar then went on to start dee-jaying on sound systems that visited the parish of Westmoreland. His love of music gave him the opportunity to dee-jay on Count Palmer’s Sound System which was one of Westmoreland’s sound at the time. He then went on to dee-jay on his brother’s nephew’s sound system called “Turbo Phonic”, in which at the time, was one of Westmoreland’s leading sound systems.

KingIssachar migrated to England and pursued his musical skills and in 1993, performed with Brigadier Jerry, Sister Nancy and Ilawi, Jah Love’s Sound System selector, at the time on a sound system called “Bonafide Love”.

In 2002 he attended the classical musical college in London named Morley College where he achieved certificates in world music, choir, pop and reading and writing on the musical stave. He also achieved certificates in sound recording and computer musical skills such as composing and arranging tunes. After this KingIssachar decided to become more professionally involved in music and found himself, not only composing and arranging his own musical tracks, but also became involved in producing local and foreign musical talent.

KingIssachar has just finished work on his first album titled “I’m Still Working Lord”, which has taken him over a period of 7 years to compile, which will be released in 2008.

KingIssachar would like to thank his hero’s Gregory Issacs, Harry Toddler, Junior Cat, Bobby Crystal, Echo Minott, the late Dennis Brown, the late Lincoln of Bonafide Love Sound System, Rebellious and Patrick Boothe for encouraging him to pursue his own musical career.
