Biography
If there’s one thing we know about Bios, it’s that there is fluff! ‘Lott’sa fluff!!! The kind of cottony soft, fluff that makes little kittens just adorable! So, here at the head office of LAIDMAN MUSIC, we thought we’d utilize our entire staff and write our bio, with a splish-splash of fun.
Now, if you think we have a real head office, you’re absolutely right! Sure, everyone else calls it our house, but when we’re trying to sound far bigger than we actually are, it’s our “HEAD OFFICE!” You’ll find us here workin’ away in our studio, forever cursed with this damn Pop songwriting compulsion, until we drop dead from exhaustion, and far too much homemade wine!
OUR PAST
Keith was the Publisher of a Canadian music magazine for four years, begging the record companies for ad dollars, interviewing major Acts such as Bon Jovi and learning about the backstage pranks they played on Kiss! Michelle was on the Artist side, receiving Canada wide airplay for her singles "Tonight" and "Cryin' Over You." Much Music aired her "U The Man" video in regular rotation, even Billboard Magazine (U.S.) ran a half page article on her! Now, how are WE doin’ for “fluff”!!!
THE PRESENT
Today is all about enjoying our family, networking, and pursuing our songwriting craft professionally. Our mission statement is simply, “If Keith’s Mom (a.k.a. Grandma), likes our songs, they’re good enough for the world!”
Our focus is Pop songs - from Teen pop to Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop. Michelle performed on DAVID USHER’s Srange Birds album, and we do have National TV commercial experience, as well as jingles we’ve written for our home-made movies! (We only mention that ‘cause Grandma liked those as well).
Now, who are you? A potential collaborator with the same drive to write? A hot Producer looking for committed, talented songwriters? (Sorry, we don’t know any). Maybe you’re a reputable Publisher with the right contacts and creative flare to shop our songs and beat us with an old Gibson guitar if we ever submit crap!
Whoever or where ever you are, thank you for your interest, we sincerely appreciate it!!! Please feel free to get in touch via email, phone, or just snail-mail us some spare change and home-baked goodies at your earliest convenience.
All the best with whatever you’re passionate about!
