Redneck Fairytales #1-c9-1-2007MaryHines-JohnDavis

ok, everyone...I got a little 'creative' and asked John Davis here at SYMS if he wanted to play a 'game'....he said ok, so I sent him a rhyming verse for him to add a verse...after he sent it back, I added a verse, then he added his musical expertise & 'effects'....(we just made the storyline up as we emailed back & forth...)'Redneck Fairytales #1' is what came out of our 'game'..so we decided to share it with all our friends here at SYMS...I did say friends, so keep that in mind when you listen to it, lol...and also keep in mind we were just playing around...everything doesn't have to always be 'serious' in music or life, in my opinion, at least...hope you enjoy listening to it when you get the chance.

I am a songwriter, but I like playing around on my keyboard, too... and I also enjoy creating midibeats with digital programs. I've been writing songs for the past 10 years or more, and I have approximately 20 songs that I am in the process of having demos made of..they are already copyrighted....some are country-some are gospel...After finally getting the chance to filter thru my backlogged songs, at last count, I have at least four times that many if not more that I will be working towards having copyrighted within the next few months....(also included in these are one 'easy listening' or 'slow rock' song, and 2 gospel rap songs ; one rap song could be recorded as a country/rap song and another rap song that probably would not quite fit in as a country rap)..........

Some of my songs were written to be sung by female vocalists, some are for male vocalists...Some of my songs are inspirational, some tell a heart-warming story, but some are just plain fun songs which were derived from light-hearted playful jokes.. and some are just fast beat country songs, which relate to the habits and nature of people in general......any of these songs would be welcomed at any C&W event, dance, festival, etc. Some of these songs would also be appropriate for background music for films, movies, videos, documentaries, etc.

If you would be interested in any of my songs for possibly cutting a recording, or use as a promotional demo for enhancing your own career, please let me know....

I will also mention that I am capable of creating jingles for anyone that might be interested...

Some of the offerings were left with poems or letters (letters that were sealed will always remain so),but others bear meanings known only to those who offered them: a Bible, a fishing float, service ribbons,a popsicle stick, a foil wrapper from a Hershey's Kiss. ...............''

This is my offering to the Wall...my song, ' The Wailing Wall ', (c95msh).....I just feel that all Veterans (&Soldiers) deserve our respect, regardless of our political issues or opinions of war...and that's what this song reflects.

I thank Bob Hausler for helping me with my first demo of all the songs I've written....' The Wailing Wall ',(c95msh)..Bob and I are over 1000 miles apart, but he tolerated 4 months of us emailing each other back and forth, until we finally reached a point where we were both content with our project. .......The first time I listened to Bob sing ' 50,000 Names', I admired Bob's vocal so much ..and he's such a great instrumentalist as well...I knew he could turn this song into what I'd hoped for...and I truly thank him for his patience, advice and inspiration...we may decide to enhance this song in the future, so you can check back on that..also, there will be a slideshow that will go with this song, so please check back later on that, too...for now, hopefully you'll enjoy listening to this song as much as I've enjoyed working with Bob on it...,

I'd like to thank Robert Hand of Cross Road for the beautiful job that he did with this song.... It is also one of the first songs I ever wrote...Rob gave it such an uplifting melody ...Robert sang the vocal, and put the instrumental background to this song. You can find Rob here at SYMS

When I wrote this song, I'd come to the realization that not everything that happens to us is a real disaster...sometimes what happens to us, even tho we may not see it at the time, is just a blessing in disguise...and I know I personally have attempted 'to fly higher' than I should at times, so that's where this song derived from.........I hope to put a gospel album together real soon, as well as a country album.

This was also one of my first songs...this song reflects a sincere desire that I had then, when I wrote it, and still do, for angels to be put in my daily path in life...and so far, that request has been fulfilled..daily. Besides the previous 'angels' that have graced my life, Bob Hausler and Robert Hand, another angel has been in the process of helping me with this song. This song is not only one of my first songs, but it is also my first vocal on a public demo. I've enjoyed working with John on this song, and I will say, that had I known that he was going to allow me a solo, I might have toned it down some more, lol. John and I are over a 1000 miles apart, so we put this song together via the net..The last time I sang publicly, I was about 10 years old..my two sisters and I sang at church and a few other little local town events. I guess that saying, 'it's always good, as long as it comes from the heart' will be put to the test on this song. I'm sure this song will wind up being demoed by a more
professional singer than myself, but like I said, I did enjoy working with John on it...You can also find John here at SYMS.

Just in time for Grandparents Day.....

Years ago, my son, who was 5 years old at the time, basically said the same words that are in this song to my Dad, then gave him a great big hug..I'll never forget that...so that's where this song derived from.

I provided the lyrics for this song, but I give special thanks to John Davis for providing the Vocals & Instrumentals for this song, also appreciation is given to John for helping me to get the demo ready before Grandparents Day (September 9).
