Born into the family of an Army intelligence officer/clarinet playing father and a stay at home police officer mother, Stevie began his musical journey at the tender age or 12 years old.
The journey:
1971 The beginning
1976 Won the Ft. Ord talent show performing “Brick House” by the Commodores, amoung a hosts of other bands competing.
1977-1978 While in the Army, Played with “Per Ardua’, while traveling throughout West Germany on the weekends
1978-1983 Began reading music and taking lessons
1984-1988 Studied Classical Music at UMSL and Washington University
1989-1993 Studied Jazz and Bossa Nova finger style guitar
1994-1995 Played with “Big Al Carson and the Blues Masters” at the Funky Pirate in New Orleans on Bourbon Street (a must visit for anyone)
1996-1998 Played in University City and surrounding area’s as Street Musician on the weekends to “pay my dues” and get some exposure
2000-2003 Played the Soulard Blues circuit with the late Bennie Smith. Hammerstones, 1860’s and other clubs in that area.
2004 – Current continued personal study of music theory specific to guitar performance. My personal objective is to remain a perpetual student in the study of my instrument and theory and application thereof.
I am compiling at list of fresh and new, diverse songs to begin my recording career.
