Biography
A little bit about me... I’ve been singing and playing bass for almost three decades now and spent 15 years as a studio musician, and assistant to the engineer. Singing and mixing new ones, old ones, covers, and originals. (Bio) Growing up in a big city in Ohio (The Great White North!) I found myself always listening to a band called Rush in the late 70's. Buying a $50.00 bass at a local flea market I went home to see if I could play long enough to learn at least one song all the way through... I picked an easy Chicago tune called 25 or 6 to 4, and figured it out after about an hour of playing, but man my fingers had enough ! ! ! Then I knew I could move on to Rush'es Workin Man... I was only 16 at the time and it was Geddy Lee from Rush that inspired me to write my own songs like "My Yyz for Geddy Lee". In 1980 I discoverd a band called "Journey" I was hooked, it was then I learned every song on every album that Journey ever put out... Another icon that made me who I am today, Steve Perry..... Then in 1980 I joined my first band. The bio of the band I jumped into was intense ! the band ended up learning over 56 songs in less then 6 months, which put me on center stage to be the front man since all the other guys in the band would'nt sing, (only backup...) It was then I had my homework cut out for me, trying to learn the bass lines, memorize the lyrics, then trying to put both parts together was difficult at the time but I never really thought about how difficult it was, I just wanted to keep rockin! The Harmonic Distortion CD was really never to be released, This all got started thirteen months ago when I had an idea to sing an old love song by Elton John called "Your Song" and give it to my girlfriend as a gift of gratitude. When I finished with the mixing at the studio, I wanted more... So I kept singing and thus become too many songs to list.... Titling the CD was then easy, the mixing is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone ! ! ! Thats why we called it (dont try this at home.) As you know I'm looking for an all original rock band to tour with, or other musicians to write with, (help if you can), Can sing to just about anything,,, thanks to rockers like Getty Lee from Rush, Rik Emmett from Triumph, Klaus Meine from the Scorpions, and Steve Perry from Journey, "My so-called teachers"... Thanx to Primetime recording studio where "Lovin Someone, My Yyz for Geddy Lee, Vital Farewell, My life, Love of a lifetime, and Cruel Passages," were recorded, but mixed at my studio Stealth Sound & Recording. Also thanks to my studio players Scott shepard and Dave Elgin on Drums, Dave Rudouph, Dave Chilson (Old 80's Guy) and Bobby Wilson on Guitars, my parents for their talorence of all the loud music when I was growing up, and my children for having my loud screaming vocals in there face as they were growing up..... And YOU for taking the time to listen ! ! ! ROCK ON BROTHERS and SISTERS ! Ralan
