INTERVIEW
I interviewed $mittyRock earlier this month. I asked him a few questions and he answered, openly, about a lot of things. I found him to be in contrast with his gangsta image, however. I could see in his eyes and baby face that he is not somebody to fuck with.
He is very, very polite. During the course of this interview he must’ve asked me at least 100 times if I wanted to “hit this blunt” and if I “straight” (meaning if I needed anything else to drink, etc). He is very low key person… a worldly man… multilingual. He speaks English, Italian and German. He’s an interesting person to talk to. He seemed to know something about everything. I tried to confuse him by asking him a weird question about ufo’s.
He just exhaled a huge cloud of smoke and said, “Did you know that KGB discovered the lost tomb of the Skywalker?”
It shocked me. I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. Obviously, I couldn’t shake him. So I jumped into the interview with him.

Why he wants to go global?

I asked him about his influences. His heroes ranged from neighborhood pimps and players to today’s most famous MC’s.
"I never knock a hustle .Never!" he stated in all seriousness. He meant that, indubitably. His music is underground, and it bumps from the country to different cities in the ghetto. He has built a strong fan base by hustling cd's and surprisingly, by word of mouth. His story telling lyrics are factual, he exclaimed.

"Each song is based on a group of individuals; women, homies, hoods, etc. For example the song 'Quality Time' is about 7 or 8 women, but it sounds like I'm talking about one girl. The line 'my uncle Big Al' came from a girl I met in the mall. She drank a beer with me and my uncle. When she left he asked me how long I knew her. I told him, "You were with me just now when I met her!” A long story short, I talked to her into giving him a blowjob. And this guy actually complained about it!!!" he said, laughing at the story.
It's real. "I can't make a story like this up", he added, “He said "that wasn't shit! I had to fuck her face!!!”
I asked him, "Did u freak off with her?"
He responded, "No, no need to. She was a closet freak. She had enough jockeys to ride her. I just wanted some head from pretty girl".
His story telling is gritty with an old school feel and has been compared to the likes of Slick Rick the original, Ice Cube's earlier platinum plaques, namely, Summer Vacation and Once upon time the projects. $mittyRock brings the rawness back to Hip-Hop. Using basics drum beats and simple flows and quotable hooks, he will be boosted his from underground fame to a-soon-to-be global icon.
