Tha Gooniez
are a group of young characters that bonded together in Junior high in 2003 and through the years. Deangelo Hatcher,19(3rd Degree Beatz)had already at time started makin beats and sound on an xbox where Davion,16(Prince Slade)and his brother Paul Bayer,19(Young Po)started putting together some rap. Jermaine Bulter,18(Kid Cash)then came in with some of his verses.These were the Original 4 of the group that at the time called themselves "Tombstone Mafia". After feeling that this name did not suit them they later change it to "Tha Young Gooniez cause of their ages. During this time Danielle,19(ShiGurl), Derrick19(Prophet),Melvin Green,18(Suspect)and Maurice,27(Mdirty)who came from a radio station battle against tha Gooniez and soon join the group.
When 3rd degree received studio equipment from his uncle, this gave the group a better edge on sound where they were then recognized for their creative songs. This took them to having shows in the communities and have a most requested hit "anymonous" on XM 66 raw along with Tabi Bonney hit"Put It In The Pocket". So when the Showcase for LiL Wayne reality show came around Tha Gooniez song "What About" with Kid Cash rapping on track win the hearts of the A&R's and judges on the panel, it wasn't hard to say they had another hit single. 3rd degree Beatz at this time has also win his spot for one of the best Producer in the Tri-state area for the show.
Now with new projects on the way like getting notice by Truck Turner, the A&R who notice Alicia Keys , Papoose and fews other hit makers and now Ace of Wu Tang Clan, they hope to be sign by a label and tour the globe with their unique sounds that keep you moving...
