Biography
I grew up in south Louisiana. My parents loved music, listened to many different styles, and I was hearing it all the time. Picked up my Dad's guitar when I was ten and he never got it back. Subsequent guitar purchases of his were also quickly attained. Started playing in bands by 11 years of age and from there I studied jazz at Baton Rouge High School under the late Lee Fortier, (lead trumpet with Woody Herman's big band), and selected All-State jazz guitarist two consecutive years there. At 16, I attended the Berklee College of Music. Afterwards, I played in numerous bands and one of them, FuncHaus, featuring Terence Higgins, drummer for the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, was signed by Chrysalis Records in 1992. A little later down the road I became more interested in the production side of things and opened my own studio. There I recorded and produced over 75 recordings/cds of some of south Louisiana's most talented, musicians and artists, and I composed, recorded, and produced, three film scores. In 2001, I made the decision to move to Nashville and have been here ever since, writing, recording, and producing. I'm delighted to be releasing my first solo record and anxious to start performing it live.
