Attilion was formed in November 2006 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The band leader, Bowo C, had an idea to form the band which performed as experimental jamming band after being inspired by his favorite bands, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, YES, King Crimson and Mahavishnu Orchestra, in mid 2003 when he had a group called Propolis with his university friends in Jakarta. But his idea was failed as the other members can’t afford to play that music and finally the band was split.
In 2005 Bowo C became an additional guitar for the progressive rock band called Academie of FarSide and during the year he also made lots of song concepts for his own project someday. Then he wasn’t in that band anymore about mid November 2006 and he met his friend, Fajar, to form a jamming band. Later the band took a name called “ATTILION” which came from Bowo C’s idea when he walked by himself, its name spontaneously appeared in his mind (The word “LION” found from his favorite French football club, Olympique Lyon. Bowo C is maniac in soccer). Attilion offered freshly new age without vocal-jamming band and often will play, even compose several songs on the spot, live on stage without any planning before. Bowo C is also the mastermind of this band and wrote also composed all the songs.
After facing tough struggles, in the end of July 2007 Attilion had a chance to record their first demo album called “It Must Be”. But Fajar gave his contribution in one song only and the album finished in October 2007. Several months later Attilion had a new member called Anto for guitar and bass. So the band lineups had three members which is Bowo C for guitar, Anto plays bass and guitar, and Fajar for drums. The band had first performance in Rhythm Salad 1 event at Vicky Sianipar Centre, Manggarai, Jakarta then followed by Ngayogjazz Festival (organized by Mr. Djaduk Ferianto from Padepokan Bagong Kusudiarjo) at Bantul, Jogjakarta in November 4th, 2007. In the mid of March 2008 Anto was resigned from the band and only Bowo C and Fajar. In the same year Bowo C and Fajar joined a pop band called Lonely Mona.
During 2008, Fajar left the band and Attilion took a break almost for two years because Bowo C focused on his pop band, Lonely Mona, and also his involvement as a church musician. After that moment, Attilion began to live again in January 2010 when Bowo C met his church friend, Agung. Later he joined Attilion and in the same month, Victor took the bass position but only a week he decided to leave due to his concentration in course. In mid February 2010 Bowo C finally resigned from Lonely Mona so he concentrated to make Attilion ‘alive’ again. Then Ferdy joined Attilion as a bassist only a month and he left in March 2010 without any specific reasons. In May 2010, a talented bassist from the same church called Carlo took the bass position and here is the new line-up formed: Bowo C on guitar, Carlo on Bass and Agung on Drums.
With the latest line-up, Attilion was back on stage again on June 26th, 2010, at Sangkakala SangKami Event, Blok-M Square, South Jakarta. Then continuning with other performance at AudioHead Music Community Event, Kios Taman Pondok Labu, South Jakarta on September 25 th, 2010.
Later, on January 25th, 2011, It was a big day for Attilion because they already released their 1st album called ‘It Must Be’ independently, although its distribution is in Indonesia only due to the limitation of their distribution and promotion.
Now Attilion is ready to give you surprises and lots of fun. See you at the stage!!

His father was an accountant and played piano during break as he likes Beethoven, while his mother, brother and sister was participated as a singer in the church choir. In earlier time, Bowo C was interested in drawing a lot while he was also listening to all varies of music from radio, even from tapes too.
His passion in music began at age 15 and decided to learn playing bass guitar after impressed by listening to Nirvana. Then he thought that bass has limited melodies, he changed to pay lots of attention to guitar. Unlucky, he had no teacher or mentor who can assist him on guitar playing, so he decided to learn guitar by himself. During that time, his music was metal because he likes Metallica, Tool, and Helmet.
In high school, he tried to form a band with his mates but didn’t take a long time as they weren’t serious in music. At the same time, he began to be introduced with progressive rock when his brother listened to a metal progressive rock from USA called Dream Theater. He became more passionate in progressive when he met his church mate, Widiatmono Kapriandi (Academie of FarSide’s drummer and founder), and he listened to Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Yes, Rush, and others who play that genre. Not only that, he was invited to join Widiatmono’s cover band, Plung, which always played Dream Theater’s songs. At University, Bowo C formed a band with his mates and played at several campus events. Later he suggested that why we don’t play progressive cover songs. But they have lack of knowledge about progressive and no interest so he decided to play alternative or grunge. When Bowo C had the boredom of playing cover songs in the beginning of 2003, and also he was in depression too, he began to write and compose his songs by record it with playing acoustic guitar in front of tapes.
During 2003 until 2005, while making his thesis, he had difficulties to find musicians who were interested in playing progressive or experimental, and he was still composing his new concepts. Then in mid 2005, he join Widiatmono’s progressive rock band, Academie of FarSide, as an additional guitar. They played in two different events; first one in Indies event at Bugs Café and the other is in Progressive Night by Indonesian Progressive Society at Sari Pan Pacific, Jakarta.
His interest to form his own band couldn’t be held as he resigned from Academie of FarSide in the end of November 2006 and focused on forming his own experimental band. At the same time, in Handoko’s rental studio (Academie of FarSide bassist), he met Fajar, who was a drummer and also looking for a band after his group was split. After long discussions, Fajar decided to try to join Bowo C’s band although he plays more jazz rather than progressive or even experimental things.
