Basically, I started messing around with my friends keyboard and got addicted to creating music. Then... I really didn't do much about it because I myself couldn't afford a $2000 keyboard in the late 80's early 90's.
I met a girl (lisa) who helped me out in Unrest and she bought a keyboard and I helped her figure out how to use it. While using the keyboard (SY85 Yamaha) I created many songs.
Cubase wasn't even around yet so multitracking was pretty much impossible unless I used a small mixer. I had 9 tracks within that SY85 to work with so my talent was really limited.
Not until around 1999 could I multitrack using Cubase and my $500 Alesis QS 6.1 as a midi controller and the internal sounds. I used internal sounds back then more because computers weren't that powerful like now.
Jump to 2008 and I am pretty much limited to my own mind. I was a tad more creative when I was younger but had alot less experience. I'd rather have been 17 now and start with technology as it is now, but I can't go back in time.
I still use my Alesis with Cubase 3 with many software synths and have learned everything on my own. The only tutorial I've ever watched was on Reason 4 because it's alot more complicated to use than Cubase 3 is in my opinion but harnesses great power when you dig in to it just to create 1 sound.
My movie Unrest was shot in 4 days, with 1 re-shoot. It was written much longer and had to be cut down because I couldn't get free working actors together all at once very easily. What I accomplished with 1 camera, 3 actors, and just myself has made me happy enough. The movie was mixed in true 5.1 surround as well to help give the movie some production value and added much time to the post production.
Thanks for taking the time to watch it and listen to my music. I have many other songs not listed. I'll get more on here soon though.
