He grew up in Milton and Cambridge City areas in Indiana. At the age of Five, he got his first flat-top guitar which was accidentally left out in the rain, but because of his dedication to music he was able to save enough money and buy himself a Vox Electric guitar at the age of Thirteen.

Growing up in a musical family; being the only son out of six siblings, he chose music as a "way out" away from the girls. His father became his mentor; passing his skills and talent to his Thirteen year old son.

At the age of Seventeen, Bobby played at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge . It wasn't until 1994, that he professionally started singing at the local VFW's, Moose Lodges, American Legions, RV Parks and even Talent Shows. He sang Karaoke songs from various artists like Merle Haggard, Hank Sr., David Lee Murphy and more. E. A. Gregory heard his music and was so impressed that they asked him to play at Marion County Fair Grounds in Ocala, Florida in 1995. He was also invited by Starbourne Records to appear as their guest at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Waylon Jennings was so impressed with Bobby Dee, that he asked him to join his tour along with United Shows of America. From there he started touring with E. A. Gregory, also known as United Shows of America, to places like Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Florida, during which time he opened for Waylon Jennings, Eddie Rabbit, John Conley, Tommy Cash, Aaron Tippin, Bill Anderson, Jim Ed Brown, Fox Brothers, Porter Wagner, Mark Chestnut, Johnny Paycheck, Travis Tritt, Ken Mellons, Kitty Wells and many more. He also played with The Grand Ole Opry Road Show. He toured with E. A. Gregory for a total of three years; from 1995 to 1998.

He moved to Nashville, Tennessee & formed a band which they called "The Southern Legacy ." They played at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, The Stage, Legions, Roberts and a few other local places around Nashville. He is Also a Member of The Tennessee Country Music Alliance.

In 2005, he moved back to Florida, where he currently stays busy playing at Sunshine Opry, Orange Blossom Opry, and other local places around Central Florida. For his free time, he likes to relax and hang out with his friends. He also enjoys horseback riding, playing his guitar, writing new music, spending time with his family and most importantly keeping in touch with his fans!

Hey Bobby great session! I love Jesus and Mama, it's still one of my favorites songs and you do a fantastic job on it. Your voice doesn't sound like all the other cookie cutter kids coming out of Nashville and that's refreshing. 5 brother! tone
