Biography
Bryan Nydegger distinguishes himself with an organic blend of indie and folk rock flavors with a subtle progressive edge. The styles coalesce in a seamless whole that evokes a myriad of emotions and ideas and which reveals a sly summoning of diverse influences that find themselves very much at home with each other.

Feel What I Feel

A sublime sharing of emotions – that’s music in the eyes of Nydegger. The job of the artist as he sees it is to lucidly convey to the listener what feelings are coursing through the musician as he composes and performs his music. Songs make the inner heart of the artist transparent to the audience – if it’s done right. “Music makes me feel exactly what the person who wrote it was feeling,” Nydegger explains. He channels his time and talent through a mental lense that brings his creative energy into sharp focus. His songwriting ethic demands care and attention to the art of making music because he believes he has to love his work if the listener is going to feel the same way – and if the listener is going to feel what he feels. “If [an artist] wrote about something sad, I’ll feel sad. But if the person quickly wrote the song, just trying to get something written, I will pick up on that and then usually I won’t be into the song very much at all.” And he knows his own listeners will react the same way if he doesn’t commit himself 100 percent to his craft. And so he does.

Connection Through Honesty

Nydegger also believes that pretense must be dropped when writing music, or creating any form of art. To reveal one’s feelings to the listener, one must connect with the audience and artistic subterfuge, emotional dishonesty and creative contrivance – in other words, music not written from the heart – will only alienate the audience by placing a mask between artist and listener, something standing in the way of musical communication. Nydegger avoids all such tactics. “Always be yourself and connect with your audience as you would connect within yourself.”

The Artist at Work
Nydegger is hard at work writing new material. In fact, he recently completed a new creation. “I just finished a recording project – my newest tune – which is already uploaded on my artist page. It’s titled ‘Time Will Only Tell.’” Visit www.arselect.com for more info. Nydegger is currently working with A&R Select, the world’s leading artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles, CA.

“Nydegger’s music is an arresting mix of elements, at once calling to mind the edge of true indie greats and the emotional impact of singer-songwriter stylings, delivered with intelligence and verve.” – A&R Select.
