A Little diddy about Dan MacDonald & “The Bang”
Dan MacDonald is no stranger when it comes to local talent. From playing gigs at J&Ks Video Arcade, opening for Ted Nugent at the Sudbury arena to playing every bar in the city and across Canada.
With a catalogue of songs waiting to get recording time,
You would think he’d have a tune for the tattoo contest he read about.
Nothing and one week till the deadline…….
What is the process for finding the “right” song for a newly developed “reality show” pilot? Have a contest! That is what Laurier Falldien, owner and tattoo artist of Canadian Red Dragon did.
In true “Reality Television” fashion 10 bands had to record an original song where on the contest’s website, friends, families and fans could vote for the
best song. On July 28th at The Grand Night Club, sponsored in part by Q92 Radio, the winning band would win a $15,000 grand prize which was to have the song recorded as a music video produced in New York City.
And the winner is…..“Tattoo Me”….by “The Bang” one of Sudbury’s own. Local boys are Dan MacDonald, vocals and acoustic guitar along with Shawn McBain also on acoustic guitar, Craig Giles on bass,Will Rennehan on slide guitar and Cory Kottick on drums.
