Biography
Dan Rivers was born to play acoustic guitar, sing, write songs and to perform live in front of an audience. Dan got his first acoustic guitar at the age of nine and wrote his first song soon there after.
Self taught and with a burning desire to excel in his craft Dan became a sponge and soaked into himself all the great acoustic songs of his generation which included many genres. His songwriting reflects his early musical studies and his style of vocals, guitar playing & song writing is all his own...unique,thought provoking, honest and straight from the heart.
Dan's music career has taken him many places like... Nashville, TN when he was invited by Sony Records to showcase for them in 2006. Dan show cased his song, 'She's Been Waiting' and his award winning songs, 'Grandfather ( March Nights ) & ' Traveling Days '...the results of that show case are still pending.
Most recently Dan became a BMI artist and his songs, 'She's Been Waiting' and 'One Flag-One Flag-One Nation were accepted by a twenty year old international music publishing company that hand picks quality artists songs for use in movies, TV shows, advertising campaigns and for music producers.
Dan and his wife Sally reside in Miamisburg, OH and Dan continues to write new songs ( there's plenty to write about in these times we are living ) and perform live at quality venues in his region on a very frequent basis.
Dan's song, 'The W Ketchup Song' is his first commercial success as a product jingle. Dan wrote the song for one reason only and that's because for every bottle of W Ketchup sold ( yes, this is a real company with a very good product )a portion of that sale goes directly to The Freedom Alliance Foundation. This foundation sets aside college funds for the children whose parent was killed in the line of duty while serving in the Armed Forces. Dan - being a former U.S. Marine - put his songwriting talents to the test to create the jingle so he could do his part to support the children of our fallen soldiers whom are fighting and dying for our freedom!
The Wketchup Company has estimated that the WKetchup Song has helped sell tens of thousands of bottles of W & has helped many, many children live out their dream of higher education even in the wake of losing their parent in war.
Want to do your part to help the children whose parent willingly made the ultimate sacrifice for your freedom? Simply go to: www.wketchup.com and order your ketchup today!
