“Kemar British AKA DU-RECK”
Kamar Ricardo Johnson aka (Kemar British) was born to his parents Beryle Richards and Hudson Johnson on May 28, 1980 in Cap-burn-pen Kingston Jamaica. Kamar resided in Jamaica with his mother for twelve year. He is the third eldest of four children. He was raise in church; he had to be there, whether he wanted to are not, every Sunday. At age eleven he was a young man he used to sneak out of the house to attend stage show and dancehalls. There he saw artist like Super-cat, Josey Wale, Admiral Bailey, Bounty Killa and Beanie Man in their younger days. He left Jamaica in 1992 to live with his father in the United States of America.
He furthered his education in the Philadelphia school system. He has always had a passion for music, He loved to sing and dance. At the age of fifteen He started writing songs. He wrote songs such as Mother Earth, Educate the Youth them of today, Foot Print and many more. After years of writing he decided to carry on his career as a Reggae artist. In 1997 he met with producers such as James Quake (aka Blue), and Angelo (aka LoLo Rachi). That is when he got the opportunity to work within studios, which was when he came up with the stage name “Du-Reck”. In the year 2000 he began doing talent shows, performing in clubs, and festivals. In 2003 he opened the shows for artist like Sanchez and Larry White. Then in 2007 he meet with co-manager Gregory Campbell (aka DJ Scripture) from WKDU 91.7FM radio station. Since then his song has been played on a weekly base and on the World Wide Web WKDU.ORG. We are in the middle of working on songs with DJ Hemprise and El-Feco. He will be performing at a community out reach with the True United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic in August and more. He was also featured in the AM New York News paper on June 21, 2007.
proform at the 2008 South Jersey Caribbean festival with Marus DeMuis who has the number one hit out now Gal farm , and The caribbean festival in Philadelphia with richie Steven with over 30,000 attended.
He has music for all ages, music to set your feet dancing, and your heart beating. Honor to God and big up to the World. Du-Reck. Du-Reck “If it comes fast, it will go faster, if it comes slow, it will go slow.”
