This is All About Healing!
My Name is, Deborah P. Lung-Judge (Dee Jay Silverheels) and I'm originally from Salisbury, Pa. in Somerset County, Pa. . My Home is very Close to Where The 911 Airplane went down and hit in Stoystown, Pa.
Salisbury, Pa. is part of the Old Chief Cornplanter Tract of Land. And both my Mother: Eva Jane Hampe and Step Mother: Anna Nannie Hampe were Sisters and were born at Somerfield, Pa. Which was the Part of Land that is now under the Yough Dam today. So, their lives were all dramatically effected when The Government sold that Tract of Land to the Corp of Engineers.
The Corp of Engineers only gave the Residents of The
First American Villages a small amount of money for their lands, if any at all? So, the whole time the Engineers were preparing to build the Dams in the 30's and 40's My Mothers were dealing with all this displacement. So, the Trail of Tears was an Endless Time for all these Corn Planters, of which many were already offspring of past Forced Migrations and The
Carlisle Schools, of Pa.
I know that The lives on The Reservations were no better and that is what I'm all about?
We all need to help each other heal today, as the Eastern Histories are being Researched and Written about, as Battle Grounds and Museums Memorialize their War Events and Heroes.
Pt. Phleasant Battle Grounds is conducting their Histories as we read this and The Washington D.C.
Trails and Pathways are being connected thoughout the U. S. A.
I was concerned that Salisbury, Pa would be left out? Because the Construction Plan, is on-line and the Trails stopped in Grantsville, MD. and skipped over Salisbury and went to Meyersdale, Pa. When for years
Salisbury, Pa has been the most popular Maple City and took in most of the Tourism in the past years.
So, I called the National Preservation Society and informed them of our History, and reported our family encounters with past famous family members. And got the Trails & Pathways protected, from being totally distroyed.
I called the Tribes and also spoke to the Native American Museum Lead person "Two Feathers" and The President of National Historic Society. I enlisted the help of Ft. Necessity Ranger: Mary McFadden who was very nice and helpful.
*Her Sister met G-Grandfather at the Meadows Race Track and has a very interesting story to share and I was greatful they shared their sory with me.
* I took My Uncle Albert Henry (Butch) and My Cousin Ronald Lung with me to take some Art to Ft. Necessity
Museum and we met with Mary McFadden then. She never doubted who we were and knew due to Uncle Butch's close resesmblence to G-Grandpa Jay Silverheels. She allowed us all Free Passes and we watched the Museum Movie and signed the Guest Book, before we left.
Ranger McFadden told us we could get complimentary tickets for our family members too. And I donated my Art to Great Grandfather Jay Silverheels and all our Silverheel's Ancestors Memories. I don't know if they put my Art up or not but I pray they do something honorable with it?
That was the proudest day of all our lives and Uncle Butch told me, "He felt like a Million Bucks!" I think that made his whole life and it was the fartherest he ever was from home and the only time he ever left town.
We also went to Farmington to visit the Great White Buffalo and The Black Bears. Both Ronald and Uncle Butch enjoyed the White Buffalo but Uncle Butch loved the Black Bears the best. As we passed them going to the Buffalo they followed him along the fence and he made a grunt at them and they really followed him then. I told Uncle "That he must have spoken their language, cos they followed him back and forth" and when we left we went back by them and they still followed him.
My Sister Nance Jane: on here went with me up the Salisbury Mt. and we found our Old Home Place and viewed all the First American Graves and we took pictures for The National Historic Society President,
which they were going to do their own escavations.
I was told that "This way when the Highway went through there, they would divert the road around and away from the Graves." So Nance and I took pictures and I submitted them to Amanda Valko and her Husband who are the only ones to do escavations in Pa.
Years before all this I reported to the St. Regis Mohawks and Seneca Nations the same information and I know My Sister also tried to contact the Tribes in N.Y. because she visited her In-laws there.
I got the town and two Home Places on the National Registry of Historic Places and declared it A National Monument to the famous People that we all knew visited there in the past.
So My Sister, Uncle and Cousin and I all contributed to Preserving the History of the town for our Family, Town, County,Country and all the Tribes That use to hunt on the Longe Field Settlement as a Seasonal Hunting Grounds.
We have not been greedy and we have been all inclusive in it all. We did get the Race Track stopped from being built on the hill which would have ruined our home places on the hill and distroyed the Trails there.
Hopefully now Salisbury will be the Maple City it use to be and not Meyersdale and Great Grandpa's History he protected for many years will be included?
I'm very greatful to my Sister Nance Jayne for helping me with all this and it wasn't easy for any of us but it had to be done. And the effects of all these stuuggles has taken it's toll and we do fight like Sister's do but we use to never fight at all? I hope we can get back to being better friends soon? I love her and I miss her very much!
Thank you all for being patient with us and this isn't about our proofs to anyone but just sharing and careing about you all and wanting to help heal and inform, if you want to protect your family Histories you will know how to go about it?
If you remembered your relatives Nance and I would never call you a liar or fraud at all. We will not ask you to prove who you claim you are either. And our Cousins in St. Lake City are going to send us some proofs that will be included once they are here?
Sincerely,
Deborah P. Lung-Judge (Dee Jay Silverheels)
G-Granddaughter of Jay Silverheels
Daughter of George W. Lung and Eva Jane Hampe
