I am DLP.CA, with several years experience in music as composer, performer and academic instructor. My history also carries previous employment in areas of entertainment corporate training, customer service, advertising / marketing, arts promotions and communications.
I have several years experience teaching applied voice and serving as choral director for ensembles of varied learning levels. I have taught courses in music appreciation, music history/literature, beginning & intermediate level piano classes, voice class, language diction, music theory, and general humanities. I hold the Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Charleston Southern University (SC) and the Master of Music Degree from Northwestern University (IL) in the area of Vocal Performance.
Awards and honors include The Northwestern University Eckstein Fellowship in Vocal Performance Graduate Studies, Charleston Southern University Choral Scholarships, a CSU Academic Achievement Award in Religion Studies, The Charleston (SC) Scientific and Cultural Educational Fund Fellowship Award, The Catfish Row Company Porgy and Bess Music Scholarship, The Mayne Educational Grant Award, The SC Arts Commission Expansion Arts Foundation Award for Voice, The SC Arts Commission Multicultural Artist Grant Award, Artist Feature Page in April 2007 issue of IJAMR E-zine and recent recognition listing with 2007 Who's Who in American Teachers and Educators. Professional memberships include the American Composers Forum, the Association of Independent Music Publishers and the American Association of University Professors.
