When I came home from Vietnam, there was not a homecoming. I was met at the airport by anti-war protesters who called me names like babykiller. I couldn't believe how much had changed. So I came home to begin a new life. Little did I know that I would continue to have dreams and relive being a medic in Vietnam.
I remember the letters I used to get from my family and especially those of my grandmother while I was Vietnam.
When I first wrote this, I wanted it to be used to support our troops who are serving. I was put in touch with Bobby Ross who produced the song and he had Mike Stidolph write the music score.
The three of us are Vietnam Vets and we want our troops to know that they are loved and we pray for their safe return to their families.
