Biography
Kerry Leigh and Expresso Lane produce contemporary rock/pop with hints of Chris Rea here and there but with their own 'algorhythms' thrown in that are distinctly Australian, British, and American persuasions in adult orientated intelligent songwriting and musicianship. The band were spawned in Sydney. Walking Through Walls was written and produced by Kerry Leigh, mixed by John Sayers, (whose career has included work for Sherbet, Mondo Rock, Australian Crawl, Russell Morris, Mi-Sex, and Troy Casser-Daley as well as for Olivia Newton John), and features 10 very cool and stylish tracks that even the most discerning of audiophiles will find particularly engaging.

a little about the recording side.
our first album "walking through walls" was recorded in a converted bed room and my kitchen.the funny thing is that I use to owned a pro commercial studio with some pretty nice acoustic treated rooms I never got to record any of my music in it to busy being the gate keeper to wonderland.
unfortunately a lot of the funky analog gear was sold with the studio MCI jh 400 28 channel console MCI jh 24 track 2" inch machine and all the outboard gear.
so what to record with: a friend of mine was breaking up a MCI jh 500 console I love these old consoles also this one is a bit more sweeter in the EQ than the 400 series. I had 12 cut down and put in to a custom box with Vu's the same thing with a bunch of Neve V-1 series strips I found. now armed and deadly with some cool pre amps what's next on the list a pair of Roger Quested H-108 nearfield monitors. a pair of Urei LA-4 Compressors, 1.Rosetta 800 AD/DA 1.RME ADI-8AE AD/DA. 2 fast computers pent4 3.2 GIG with lot's of ram {out of date now of coarse} 2 UAD-1 DSP cards Audio software Nuendo 2.2 The most important thing good mic's the vocals u67, drums shure beta 52a kick, snare shure 57, all tom's, 421 sennheiser, 451 AKG o/heads, a lot of you have liked my guitar sound I never used a amp couldn't if did neighbours would have freaked out! heheh.. I used a 40th anniversary strat with hot rail Dimarzio pickup at the bridge going through a version 2 Pod in to the Neve Pre's. I did Explore the pod a lot great piece of gear. I love valve amps but you gotta use what you are allowed at the time and make it work. anyway thanks folks just thought I'd share some info about us.cheers
