Fading Horses is a studio based music idea - since the incoming of software packages such as Cubase it has made life much easier for the individual to compose and create music in the comfort of your own home.
Behind Fading Horses is Graham Maddrell, who has been around and in and out of the Merseyside music scene since the early 70's - see
Hark Matilda.
Having played in bands for many years main interests now comprise studio based music - hence Fading Horses - and digital photography - see
Maddie Digital on Flickr - for a series of recent images mainly of the area around Liverpool in the UK.
Lived in Liverpool forever and today, over the years done quite a lot of work for many local bands which includes graphic artwork, poster design and cd production, including Kappa, The Jalapenos, and Cooper S. Funny thing..... is that if I knew then what i know now I dare say my old bands would have been quite good - but as it happens we just turned up, plugged in an played.....for good or bad, dodged the bottles and lapped up the scant applause...but still fun.
Some of the songs on this site date from over 30 years ago - Swamp Girl and This Song Is For You were written in those days for the band Hark Matilda, but have been radically changed and re-recorded about 18 months ago, whilst a song such as Mad Mad World was completed just today (13.1.08) just in time for Liverpool Capital of Culture!!!........
buildings high reach for the sky
dreams and truth they fade and die
culture comes and they do the sums
and when it all ends we'll all be bums
oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah it's a mad mad world
adverts say you must do today
or else you'll die and fade away
traders trade and sell you dreams
of what you want but don't really need
oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah it's a mad mad world
energy savers will save the wealth
but you'll pay with heart and health
living costs spin out of control
if the devil asked now would you sell your soul
oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah it's a mad mad world
Happy days....
