The Final Coil was formed by Philip "Pip" Stiles in 2001 after the collapse of his first band Endora. Initially just Pip messing around with his computer the Final Coil slowly developed and the initial period culminated with a home-recorded demo entitled "Back to basics".Heavily influenced by bands such as Sonic Youth, Swans, Nirvana, Faith no more and more it was rough as hell and yet the demo was enough to convince talented musician (and friend) Richard Awdrey to join the band, and work began on what was to be the next record - "Three". However, due to time and (more importantly) budget restraints the project was shelved until 2005 when Pip found the money to record "three" professionally. Roping in members of another of his projects (Fud-u-like) and friends from the Punk label, Nost8ment, Final Coil recorded it's first official demo (now entitled "The Endless lack of reason"). Recorded in just four days, ELOR featured an astonishing ten tracks, including the mammoth "This Love" ad the crushing "Endgame". Nonetheless, the bands lack of experience and money would show in the recording and it remains sonically flawed. It can be heard in streaming format at lastfm.

Following the record the band once again had to go back to their day jobs but, not deterred, returned to the studio with a session drummer and yet more friends to record current demo "Preparing for terror". Having learned from previous mistakes the record is much stronger (it can be heard here) and the band are currently saving up for official record number three. In the meantime Final Coil has played a few concerts with various line ups (Pip being the one constant) and upon his return to England (Pip is currently teaching in Poland) Pip is hoping to recruit a complete line up for the next project.
Ideally searching for a distributer for the cd and hoping for funds to record album number three properly, we believe that, properly invested in, our potential can be realised.
If all else fails at least being here we'll have some new listeners! Our music is our art, we invest our money, our time and our feelings into our work and so we're grateful for any (constructive!!) feedback and ratings. We will try to reply personally to every comment made, but due to pressures of work it may take a while so, if it takes us a day or two, please don't be offended.
