Biography
"It's That Songbird, Ya'll"
My name is Garshar, and Songbird was given to me in high school. Never was tha popular girl in school, until they heard I could carry a tune. Even then, they thought I was weird quiet girl, with my not so cool clothes and hair do's or don'ts. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and been singing since I can remember. Grew up on Gospel and Tha Blues , which created my style of singing later on when I was about 15. That was when I wrote my first song, "One Year Ago" . Have written over 200 songs since then and still going. I love being very creative with my writing and singing style. I'm sure you can relate. Wanna give something different, for a change. I love all kinds of music, except anything that's screaming at me. I'm mainly known for doing NeoSoul, but I also sing and write Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Soft Rock, Country, Pop, Jazz, Alternative, Christian Contemporary, and Gospel . My resume includes opening for, singing for, and doing back ground for local and known artist, such as, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, The Disciples of Creation, Josh Harrell (gospel artist), Sammy aka Hampton, and Deon (two of my boys and upcoming artists from Dallas). Right now, I am also doing a little acting and background singing, until my project is finished. I'm in a playwrite by Hazel Baker, "Lord, Please Don't Pass Me By" , and singing for new R & B artist, "Samarica" . My dreams are to become a great singer/songwriter for many artists, produce, and to someday own my own record company, just to help in tha persuit of bringing forth other great and very creative unique talents.
