My name is Jamie Woodfin Jr, and I’m 23 years old. I was born July 29th 1984 in Elkhart, Indiana. I’ve been playing the guitar since I was 16, and it has been a passion of mine since the first strum. I taught myself how to play using books I checked out from the library. I enjoy all genres of music and have a deep appreciation for musicianship. I love to jam, but lack a band, so I’ve invested in a project studio to make multi-track recordings. I play all parts on the tracks with the only exception being the drum machine. At the moment I lack a bass guitar, so the bass on these songs was played on my electric guitar and then transposed an octave down. While writing and recording songs over the last 4 years, I came up with a couple of names for CDs that I liked: "The Realization of Life", "Innovation Never Phelt So Good", and "The Return of D’Fin." I decided using the tools that I had, I’d record some songs to sell in order to buy new instruments. I’m currently pretty limited with equipment, as my line 6 Spyder’s board caught fire and was then stolen by the repair man. I try to make time every day to write and record my own songs. "The Realization of Life" and "Innovation Never Phelt So Good" were recorded using a Zoom Palmtop Studio and the sound recording software that came with my external Soundblaster audio card. "The Return of D’Fin" was recorded using the direct ins on an m-audio firewire 410, Sonar 6, and a variety of VST plugins. In January of 2006 I performed live on Open Studio, which airs on WNIT, my local PBS station. A local rock radio station, 103.9FM The Bear, has been kind enough to play a few of my songs. I always enjoy the opportunity to perform. I have played and sold CDs the past two years at Art Beat, which takes place in downtown South Bend, Indiana. For me there are few better feelings than realizing each time I pick up the guitar I have the chance to improve and get that much closer to being able to express myself more clearly through music. I love to write and record music for the pure enjoyment of making music. I love the freedom that music lends you, such as the freedom to explore the many different ways to go when making a song. I put both my heart and soul into each riff and rhythm, and when they blossom into their own creations it’s an incredible thing to me. This is my expression of music.
