My name is Jami JoAnne Russell, I was born and raised in Southern California. I'm the youngest of four and the only girl.
Music is my first and my true love. Nothing could make me happier then making a living off my passion. I've been performing for a number of years for a lot of different events. From private parties to conventions. The hardest time I ever had singing was for the memorial service of my best friend, Erin McQuillian, who, at the age of 26, died due to complications from her double lung transplant surgery. She had Cystic Fibrosis. I will always miss her and every time I sing it's dedicated to her.
I'm inspired emotionally by a great many performers including but not limited to Barry Manilow, Michael Crawford, Glenn Miller, Elvis Presley, Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, Buddy Holly, Neil Diamond and even a bit of Jerry Lee Lewis and "Weird" Al Yankovic.
I prefer to sing the old songs. They have more meaning to me and in my humble opinion, better lyrics. You just don't get lyrics like "love is a many splendored thing" anymore.

I have to say, I'm happy and surprised to see comments already. It's 2:01 pm on June 8th, 2007 and I've only been a member a few hours at this point. To those kind folks who comment I have visited your profiles and also gave you fives as you're all very good at what you do. I'm not much of a commenter myself as words often fail me in such situations.
As a Trekkie there's only one way I can end this -
Peace and long life.
Live long and prosper.
