Biography
These are a few songs that I wrote. They were recorded with overdubs because there was only two of us in the studio, but I sang, played guitar, lead, slide, and bass. My friend Alan Sasser played drums and did the mixing.
I started out playing the fiddle in the fifth grade and took up the guitar my senior year of high school in '01. I learned how to play guitar listening to Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings albums. Later in college, I became a big blues fan and started focusing on blues and slide guitar three or four years ago.
Although my song writing has always leaned more toward country, I have been writing for my rock and blues band these days. My favorite bands lately are Gov't Mule, the Allman Brothers, and anything that Warren Haynes is a part of. Influences in songwriting and guitar playing also include Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Duane Allman, Johnny Winter.
