Hailing from Morgan City way down in the muddy muddy dirty south swamps of Louisiana, you'll find J-Balla former On-Air Personality at KBZE 105.9 FM and Morgan City's Premiere MC. The 24yr Old. is a Native of the Central West African country Cameroon. Born Joseph Lewis to a West African Mother and Trinidadian Father, Jay started his journey to the states in 1985. He began writing at age 9 and freestyle rapping at the tender age of 12, but it wasn't until Jay was 16 that he took his gift seriously. Jay draws most of his musical concepts from his Caribbean and African roots. He is also equipped with a swagger like no artist ever seen before him. Jay is the truth, and he is ready to give his city and state a new face and a new voice bringing the truth back to the streets and a balance in power back to Hip-Hop. J-Balla is not exactly your average southern MC, he a combination of all your favorite M.C.'s wrapped into one artist.
