Biography
It was pre-determined in her destiny to become a singer, a songwriter, a composer, a producer, a star. Born in Toronto, Canada, Jennifer Cortez was raised into a talented, musical family. Both her grandmother, Fabiola Pinto, and her mother, Teresa Cortez, were Ecuador’s most loved and admired entertainers. They sang, performed and recorded an album together of cultural Ecuadorian music. Her mother continued performing and won a few trophies and their album went gold. In their day, that was considered a huge success. Her Father Mario Cortez produced and recorded their album. He was also a guitar player and would accompany them
at performances.
As Jennifer grew up, she was constantly exposed to the spirit of music in her household, and her siblings also became a part of this. As Jennifer grew older, she then began singing lessons and enjoyed performing infront of a crowd. Jennifer began to love sharing and telling stories to her audience. Music was her escape to every day life, no matter what kind of day she was having, her music would set her free.
At age 16, she began writing music. She used it as a way to express herself, like most teenagers, she was going through a lot of changes. She continued writing and has written all the songs on this album. In 2004, she became a part of a duo group called Saige. Jennifer is very dedicated to her music and once Saige broke up in 2005, she didn’t give up and continued writing. Now she is in full force, bringing in all her talent, not only does she sing and write music but she also composes and produces. Together with her Brother, ‘Rique, who is the CEO of record label, Mejor Sabor Entertainment, has been blowing everyone away; creating a new vibe mixed in with a bit of latin flavor. This new vibe is being recognized and noticed by many. Jennifer Cortez has no limits and she is here to stay. If you haven’t heard of her yet, you will.
