King Pen
King-Pen is a solo artist from Pensacola, Florida, but has spent some of his childhood and teenage life in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Taking the industry with force, he is a serious artist/entrepreneur turning heads and providing great music. His goal is for people to be able to listen to his songs and have a great time. His believes that a person should be able to turn on one of his club songs and feel like they are at the spot getting their groove on. His style varies to accommodate all age groups. His know for coming up with the perfect hook and the rest comes natural.
His crew, along with himself have been flooding the streets of Pensacola and surrounding areas for almost 3 years. The first project was named “Family Bizness” considering it was a family project. The second one was Don’t Hurt ‘Em Vol 1, and Vol 2 shortly after that. Each project was completed and independently released. This was a good learning experience for King-Pen. He quickly realized that paying for quality music is the only way to go. King-Pen plans to release my first single during the second quarter of ‘07 as an independent artist unless something big happens in the near future. His first single is called “PARKIN LOT”, a street banger produced by Patrick “BEZZEL” Williams. This single has received several spins on 93BLX by DJ ROD SKI and King-pen is pushing for spins across the South East Region. King-Pen is aiming to get the song placed on TJ Chapman’s (TJ’s DJ’s) mix-tape that is offered in the “gift bag” at their music conferences in Tallahassee, Florida.
King-Pen has opened for various mainstream artist such as, Trick Daddy, Trina, Bun B, Zero, The last Mr. Bigg, Pastor Troy, Ying Yang Twins, Lil Flip, Pimp C, B.G., Blood Raw, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Blood Raw, South Riders.
King-Pen started Microphone Mondays in his local town of Pensacola, Florida where local and surrounding artist can showcase their talent and practice their stage presence. King-Pen plans on continuing his grind in the South East Region and eventually branch into the mainstream after the groundwork is done on the underground level. He has been featured on Hood Magazine, Pyrex Mixed CD, Get’em Magazine and currently venturing outside of Florida to Georgia.
