Biography
Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Mark now calls Elmsdale, Nova Scotia his home. There is no doubt that there is salt water in his blood and in his songs.
Mark was quite a prolific writer in his younger years. He was a member of a couple indie bands that had some success in the 90's. During this time he did some recording and touring with the "Tall Poppies" and "booming airplanes". He had the priviledge of opening for acts such as Spirit of the West, Skydiggers and Wild Strawberries.
His musical influences include REM, Grapes of Wrath, Blue Rodeo, The Hip, Radiohead, Tom Petty, Neil Young and many more.
He is still a music lover and still writes when he has time away from being a high school teacher and a dad. The recordings that are posted were recorded quickly and cheaply with the help of his friend Mike. Enjoy!
