Michael "Mic-Jay" Joachim Artist / Lyricist / Poet

Born in Bridgeport Connecticut and raised in the rough streets of Mattapan, Boston MA, Michael Joachim underwent some tough times after his mother left his father before the young rapper was even a teen. Though his mother re-married, he became a self-supportive youth, turning to the streets, where he soon made a name for himself as a rapper.

Known as "Michael Joachim" in his neighborhood, he soon shortened his name to Mic-Jay and did all he could to break into the rap game. As he vividly discusses in his lyrics, during hardships in his life Mic Joachim was lead to the streets to provide for himself and his family. Living the life on the streets only knowing a handful of true friends.

Mic Joachim participated in any event with an open mic , As he feels his mind gets brighter by day he loves to shed that light through his lyrics. Mic Joachim is sure to captivate the listener wowing them with the content of his lyrics. Mic Joachim subsequently decided to make a rather traditional decision these days and packed up and moved to ATL Jan of 2008.

He linked up with manager and image consultant Josh Leak and producer/engineer Clef, a strategy for cutting out those who simply wish to take advantage of his artistry. From them he learned how to properly navigate through the industry. He then later linked up wth Chris Taylor who provided his first major photo shoot courtesy of well known and respected by the majors photographer AzWah Abdus Saadiq.

Though finally things seemed to be finally going the right way, after a few recordings and talks of recording deals he later moved back home to Boston April of 2008. Where he decided to use all his newly gained knowledge to pursue his career the way he envisioned it, as a different type of Artist who's main focuse is mind elevation.

He kept all his new connections ranging from Atlanta Georgia's to New Yorks major labels, beat makers and sound engineers, and decided to include anyone who was willing to support his dream the way he envisioned it to be.

Now he is currently working to be known and respected as a true artist/lyricist/Poet and CEO of Elevated Mind Records.
