Biography
Ms. Money has been exposed to music since before she was born, her mother was a vocalist in “Funky Town” Fort Worth, Texas where Ms. Money “Monica Martin” was born and raised. It was in 1992, when she relocated to the ATX, Austin, Texas, the “Live Music Capital of the World,” where she currently resides today. It was in 1998 that Ms.Money began to make a stand in the music business; it was in 2001 that her hobby started to became her career; she started to perform at many events around the Texas area. Her performances were like no other, she seemed to surprise her audience with her grace, sexuality, and edge. Ms.Money brought something special to a show that captured the attention of the crowd.
Ms. Money is a very self-motivated, dedicated and talented, young businesswoman; she devoted many hours to managing a small record label of her own so that she can learn as much about the music industry as possible. Her dedication goes
much further than to herself, she does a lot of volunteer work for local artist as well. Ms. Money has also managed an Austin Nite Club, “Club Sahara” where she hosted open mic sessions to allow up & coming artist to have a chance to be on stage and perform as much as possible, Ms. Money performed every week along with the local artist. Ms. Money has a passion for the music industry and all that comes along with it, and we all know this music industry is cut throat, but this is where her passion lye’s .
Ms. Money has a style that stands out from the rest. Her soft yet hard style is appealing to not just one type of audience but many. She released her first album titled “G-Side” on June 2005. Ms. Money has been getting radio requested play through out the Texas region as well as Ohio, and Atlanta.. She has opened shows for some of Texas’s hottest rappers like E.S.G., Big Moe., & S.U.C. to name a few. In 2004, she played a part in two movies in the A.T.X. area that has not yet been released. Ms. Money has done many radio interviews, she also was a host on the Public Access Community Television, channel 16 as well as operated the cameras and other equipment back stage, she also volunteered for work at the SXSW and the EXSE in Austin, TX. .
Ms.Money’s musical influences include: her mom Glendon Martin, Pattie Labelle, Whitney Houston, 2pac, DMX, Micheal Jackson, and more.
At this time, Ms.Money is looking for that record label that will enhance her talents and bring her music career to a higher level. This woman has the dedication, and the desire, but the energy that she gives off is such a unique feeling to experience. Ms.Money is now searching for the right guides at the right record label. Ms. Money is currently working on two underground albums & collaborating with artist from different states, Ms.Money is working on her next album, which is to be released in 2008.
