Biography
Group Therapy was formed in March 2007 when drummer/percussionist, John Showalter checked the bulletin board at his music store and found an ad for a band that needed a drummer. Our first session was charged with energy and we all knew that we had somthing special. Vocalist/Lead Guitar Scott Brown and Bassist Scott Smith are the core of the band and have done projects together in several other bands. Chris Proppert, the youngest member, was added and Scott Brown has been bringing him along and showed him the style he wants. John moved to Congas and Bongos to bring in Tom Remland on drums. At live shows we use two drummers and the percussion setup. We got our first show when we opened the annual July 4th concert here in Naples this year, just months after the formation of the band. With no label under our belt we practice our songs and record in a soundproof room on a mixer/ workstation. We plan to work hard on our CD and play as much as possible. Since we all have to work for a living our time is limited in the Monkey Lounge, our nickname for our "studio".
