I grew up in Minneapols and as a child I often sang and danced around the house, or in local talent shows.
I listened to my mother's music; Nat King Cole. My father's, Count Basie and my brother's James Brown. But nothing touched me the way Mahalia Jackson's Gospel Music did.
Following in my mother's footsteps, I sang professionally for a time, but after years of singing other types of music, I now sing, only for the JOY filled experience, of singing about Jesus.
Most of my lyrics tell the story of what happens when a person trys to serve two masters. In a rythmning fashion, the outcome is always the same. Without God you can do nothing, but with him ALL things are possible.
Before I sing...I pray...I open my mouth, and the sound you hear, is what comes out. I have always tried to be original, so if I sound like anyone else, that is not my intent.
However to sound like someone, whom I love and owe so very much to, would be an honor.
My goal is to sing, write and produce music that will lift up the name of Jesus, and to sing to his glory the best way I can.
