Biography
nemysys is now The Sonic Krahnic. My name is Tristan Krahn and I make sounds and I am a marijuana user, thus, the Sonic Krahnic. nemysys as a name has its limitations. it does not really tell anyone who I am or what I do. The Sonic Krahnic does both, it includes my name and my favourite thing to do while I am under the influence of marijuana, which, in Canada, is decriminalized under an ounce. It is still technically illegal, but if I am picked up by the 5-0 and have a quarter on me, they can't do anything because it is not a criminal offense. So sit back and enjoy the musical musings of the Sonic Krahnic
Don't Judge Until You Hear. I am not a musician, as musicians have knowledge of theory and structure. I am an artist because I take risks and go forth toward horizons I am unfamiliar with. I make music using FL Studio. I use my own methods of sequencing as I am self taught. I use my ear to tell me if something sounds good or not. I do not rely on conventional theory to tell me what sounds good and what does not. Just listen to a few songs, certainly no one has time to listen to them all at once. You will be glad you stopped by as I offer a fresh look at electronic music.
Included here are a few remakes of already composed songs by famous artists. In no way do I claim these pieces as my own as the music is definitely not mine. All I claim are the instrument and effect changes. I made these remakes from MIDI files obtained from the internet. All orchestration was done by others. As I said, all I am responsible for is the instrumentation and FX.
I listen to much more music than I make. I listen to much more music than my own as well. Classic rock still dominates my list, Floyd being the ultimate favourite and the Who slightly down from there. I like some modern rocks, some rap, more early shit than anything. I like techno in all it's facets. I like older country and western like my gramma listens to. I like dance music from the nineties like ATC. I like some Christian contemporary music like Michael W. Smith, even though I myself do not accept Christianity. I am a percussionist by musical trade and thus love the best names in percussion and drumming. Keith Moon, John Bonham, Travis Barker, Neal Peart; all heroes in their own rights. I get a lot of inspiration from the randomest places. If I am at work and the soft ice cream machine is knocking in a weird way, i will memorize the beat it makes and build a tune around it. If I hear something fall and it makes a weird noise, I will try to duplicate that as best I can. And mostly I just fiddle with every manipulable function on every generator I use in my songs and try to elicit the most obscure sounds anyone has ever heard in a song.
