Emerging from a played out, dried up desert of extravagant and elaborate dog and pony shows, a cry for help was born on the CT music scene.
The souls of the forgotten yearned for a voice and that voice demanded to be heard.
That voice was given a name.
That name was
“not for nothing”
Born in Waterbury, CT in the Fall of 2004, NOT FOR NOTHING has pried opened a chasm door that had previously been closed to society. Creating all original Rock And Roll, NOT FOR NOTHING stands alone in their quest to resurrect the “ROCK” in the spirit of rock and roll. In a world where smoke and mirrors has become the fallback crutch for most of the music on the scene today, NOT FOR NOTHING refuses to fall prey to the industry standard. NOT FOR NOTHING promises nothing more than the truth and nothing less than everything. Consisting of four members, NOT FOR NOTHING places an emphasis on the raw, poetic potential, of reality driven story telling, through lyrics woven in music. Through their gift of musical interpretation, thunderous guitar riffs, and drums that wage war on ignorance, the life experiences of these four brothers at arms are transformed into honest and accurate, journalistic accounts of humankind in the 21st century.
Along with making their bones and paying their dues on the CT, NY, MA, and NJ music scenes playing hundreds of local shows over the last three years, NOT FOR NOTHING has also shared the stage with such national acts as:
Hurt, Flyleaf, Power Man 5000, Candlebox, Collective Soul, Cinder Road, Revelation Theory, Dope, Mercy Fall, Bleed The Sky, and Tracii Guns.
In 2006, NOT FOR NOTHING’S music was featured in a feature length docudrama entitled “Kreating Karloff”, a documentary on the life and times of famed father of horror, Borris Karloff.
NOT FOR NOTHING feels a genuine and true connection to anyone that has lived, fought, struggled, bled, and yearned for a place of peace and understanding.
