BB:How long you been rappin?
Leron:I been rapping since high school, like 94; but you know i just started recording in like 2003.
BB:This your fourth solo, so give us a little history on the projects before this one.
Leron:O.k the album before this, my first album .My first album was like a double titled double album ,it was “Bury the hate “and “Only time will tell”. When i first did “Bury the hate” i just spent alot of money on trial and error you know what im saying, on a bunch of programs just buying some shit. Basically just tryin some shit out and i came up with a bunch of songs know what im saying and everybody was tellin me you need Pro Tools man because of the quality. Pro Tools will make you sound like a beast, so i went from Digital Performer to Pro Tools and now that i recorded on Pro tools ill never record on any other program but ProTools .
BB:And on this album what made you decide to not use cuss words?
Leron:Well i need my music to be more marketable. I want anybody to be able to listen to my Cd, even if a little child can understand what im saying then i want everybody to pay attention to my message and understand that this is my life, no fabrication. Plus im not no idiot know what im sayin and people was like, i like your music but i cant let my kids listen to this ,when you gon make somethin i can let my kids listen to. And my first single Keep god in faith off "Street Proverbs", you know i had to have a song that i can market to the radio so that was the only song on the last album that aint have no cuss words.
BB:So you say no profanity what type of songs can we expect ?
Leron:You gon hear Leron at his best. We gon take it to the club, we gon take it to my block, we gon take you through life, we gon take you through everything .Everything in one album, you gon hear basically the events that happened in between my last album my debut album my last album Street Proverbs on up until now.
BB:Is it hard writing an album with no profanity when talking about your life?
Leron:Nah! its easy because i already know what i wanna talk about, so thats the easy part.
BB:And where you comin from?
Leron:St.Petersburg, Florida.
BB:When you droppin your album?
Leron:Im dropping it December 4th. 07;
BB:Whats been the response on the new material you working on ?
Leron:Oh yeah my song “Gator clap” its catching up with “Go Shawty” off my debut album. Them my most downloaded songs, and now Gator clap ,i done had the whole Gators football team and Basketball team behind me. I love the response from the first single off the new album” I Rap 4 Food 2”.
BB:You do some of your production?
Leron:I do all my production! everything i rap to, i done produced the entire song myself .
BB:Is it hard producing your own album ?
Leron:Nah! thats a natural talent too, its kinda easy i just crank out albums when i feel it. I might crank out aboout thiry beats, then i go and pick what i wanna use and go from there .
BB:Whats the overall goal for Leron in the rap game?
Leron:Overall goal in the rap game is to make history for musicians. To stand up for real musicians, its more than just lyrics. What about the people who actually do beats and know how to write songs, people that get overlooked for their outstanding talent. I feel like im one of the most talented people out there period, because aint no mainstream artist that done produced four albums they self ,done it with no guest appearances .
BB:What you bringing different to the game ?
Leron:The creativty! skillz ,cause thats what the game lackin right now.
BB:Any last words before we wrap it up?
Leron:Be on the lookout for Nupain Records doin big thangs! we gon get it together, i keep god in faith, i keep god in my music, this album is gon be a straight banger, 16 new tracs. We might release a double album after that .And big up everybody thats been going to my page, i just appreciate everythang. I appreciate yall, and on the real dog aint none of these cats got dat street cred like me dog ,i done been out here for a minute ,aint nuttin fake about this and i dont floss in my music niggas respect me in the hood and i just wanna be heard.
