Jamie Foxx named her Red...He said "from now on your name is Red"...and so it is!
It all started for this Mom of nine and Grandmother of 11 in 2001, when she began working as an extra in the Ali movie, starring Will Smith.
A new aquaintance got me the job at a casting agency and told me to bring my kids too and let them get paid!
So I took 4 of my sons, my daughter and my niece for an experience of a life time!
Everyone on set said we reminded them of The Wayans Family or The Jacksons. All of my kids are talented and funny so everyday was an enjoyable one.
On about the 2nd day Will Smith came up to me and told me he liked my work...he put his finger in my chest and said "You Bad"! Then the next day Mario Van Peebles walked up to me while I was sitting and put his hand on my shoulder, he said "I like your work", I was truly flattered.
After 6 days of Jamie licking his tongue out at me and singing to me...while one of my sons looked on, I decided to tell him my name...after all everyday they called me Red...Jamie was busy at his chess game...but he looked up when I said "Hi, I just want to tell you my real name"...and when i told him he said "NO"....I said "excuse me"?, and Jamie said "from now on your name is Red".....
