Rene's talent and potential showed at a very young age, where she spent most of her time dancing and singing to tape recordings. People around her wished she'd stop singing but Rene didn't give in. - little did they know that a star was being born.

Growing up with a very spiritual background, the all too familiar Gospel sound surrounded her and has inspired her to further her career within the entertainment industry.

Her passion for singing has continued throughout her young years and she entered numerous talent contests. She successfully placed herself at the top and knew that this would only be the beginning of her singing career. At the age of 14, her true talent was discovered when she insisted on singing backing vocals for a friend in a studio. Her rather impressive performance fueled her ambition and the first set of demo tapes was recorded to present to record companies. Record Companies recognized her talents very quickly and was interested to sign her. Although Rene's talent truly lies in the Music Business she decided to complete her education and graduated with a BA (Hon's) degree.

2000-2001 was an amazing time for Rene she released her first EP Promo entitled 'Hot Right Now'. Tracks included a fusion of R&B and hip-hop. It took the underground by storm. Rene sold numerous units in independent stores all around the UK. The promo received heavy rotation on Mainstream and Underground Urban Radio Stations, played by top DJ's Trevor Nelson and Tim Westwood. The demand was so strong and fueled performance up and down the country. Rene's experience was taken across the water to New York, where Funk Master Flex played her massive track called 'It's Friday.'

With the stamp of approval from London and the USA, Rene is about to embark on something special. She is currently in the studio working on her debut album. It's an exciting time for the UK and Rene Byrd is surely going to make a lasting mark...
