Saalim "El Mariachi" stems from the well known Cape Flats in Cape Town, South Africa and over a period of ten years vowed the hearts of many. he has traveled extensively throughout South Africa, appeared in local newspapers regularly as an artist, shared the stage with famous figures e.g. The late Taliep Peterson on the TV Series "Kyk Net" Other well known performed events include "lighting of the torch" ceremony in 2004 which included sharing the stage with well known artists namely; Freshly Ground, Mandoza, Danny K. going further back includes celebrities like Zane Adams, Loyiso. He has performed in almost all the performing venues in the Cape which includes, City Hall, Good hope Centre, Woodstock Town Hall, Mitchell's Plain, Stellenbosch, Paarl etc is but to mention a few.

In 2003 Saalim "El Mariachi" wrote, composed and co-produced his first CD called Let it be me and immediately joined SAMRO (South African Music Rights Organization) and registered as a composer and publisher under the banner of Music Palace.
As a songwriter and recording artist, Saalim's "El Mariachi's" productions stood out at international standards making many believe that the performer and performance is an international act.
Saalim "El Mariachi" is the heart throb of Music Palace (http://www.musicpalace.za.net) who after matriculation spend a lap year in training on the piano / Keyboard. He then tended Damelin College doing Sound Engineering followed up with an Electrical and Plumbing Course offered by a civic group called LOGRA with a Micro MBA course in business management. His "Ears" as an engineer (mix down and mastering) called for great respect amongst his seniors and peers for great quality sound reproduction. As a vocal trainer he have made great indents and his recordings proves a quality reproduction on competitive basis.

Being a songwriter and artist with my own indie label, I have no objections signing, merging or exploring the field of my career with other label(s) that is prepared to go a step further in realising my ultimate dream as a musician.
