Biography
Originally known as "The Steve James Band", Shortcut2Freedom has been rockin for the past 2 years. The band started out with Adam Kasold at guitar and Shaun Stever manning the Bass. At the beginning they did not have a drummer. They later took their friend Gilbert who has had tons of experience at the position. This past year they picked up a singer and an experienced bassist who also had played with Gilbert. Stever switched back to guitar which is what he was much better at. The vocals were given to Matt Gordon who has tons of experience singing in various plays. This is his first rock performance.
The band has a broad range of Influences: Stever: Classic rock sounds such as AC/DC, Def Leppard, and Van Halen. Adam: Punk Rock sounds such as Sum 41, Ant-Flag, and NOFX. Gilbert: Anywhere from Classic Rock, Punk Rock, and Reggae on the drums. Will: Will brings a funk style bass to our music. He tends to get us to jam out quite a bit. Matt: Modern rock with his favorite band being Incubus.
We feel that our influences show up in each of our songs. Hope you enjoy our demo versions of these songs.
