Biography
Sibil Da Unsivil aka The Hip Hop Dominatrix
The making of a "U.E. All-Star"
Sibil, originally known as “Raa-D the Whiplasha” got her start in Hip-Hop in the 90’s. At the time she resided in Newark (Brick City), New Jersey with the rest of her clique, “Da Headhuntaz.” This crew consisted of herself, (Raa-D Da Whiplasha'), her female partner "Naste’" and their DJ," E-Z Money". They recorded and performed together for a few years doing shows in such places as, "Symphony Hall" (Downtown Newark) and "The Zanzibar" (two well known clubs in the Bricks.) Naste’ and Raa-D went on to record with the late Notorious B.I.G.’s cousin Bernard Scott. Through mutual musical aquaintances out out of Brooklyn, the female rap duo was recruited to do a few independent projects by old school platinum recording artist, Shelton McCoy, formerly of “Divine Sounds.” This group was responsible for Brooklyn’s first platinum Hip-Hop single, "What People Do For Money". Not long after meeting Shelton, the female duo split , but Shelton continued to work with Raa-D as a solo artist. She then worked with producers such as Rashad Smith (Who produced Biggie’s “One More Chance” and Jay-Z’s “Sunshine”) and Brett Touissant who has produced for The Lost Boys and Lil’ Kim. In 1999 Raa-D changed her name to Judi Jetsunn for the new millennium. It was then that she was offered her first deal by a major label, Atlantic Records. As advised by her management and legal counsel, she turned the dealdown and continued to work on her solo project independently.
In 2000 Judi Jetsunn and Shelton parted ways on a musical level and at that point Judi was picked up and backed by state of the art studio owner, Barry Lopate. She began recording her debut album “The World Revolves Around Judi Jetsunn” at Troposphere studio in Livingston, N.J. The album consisted of tracks from Govna’ Mattic (One of Redman’s producers) and Johnny Dangerous of “I’ll Beat That B**** With a Bat.” fame. The album was executive produced and lyrically laced by E-Clips of Doca Records. The singles “Think About It" and "Like it on the Roof” charted second under Mobb Deep on top breakouts in the DJ mass pool and climbed the regular charts for several weeks peaking at number 11 riding neck and neck with hip hop and R& B's top artists. A massive buzz was created and judi jetsunn had developed quite a name for herself in the hip hop world with the streets as well as record execs and major publishing companies.Unfortunately, not enough funds were generated to independently release the album and the album sat for a few years with no movement.
Frustrated and not sure of which direction to take at this point after such a great taste of success, Judi Jetsunn started her own independant label in 2006 called Unique Entertainment after taking on advisor and mentor T.T. Coone who has worked with many west coast greats including, Too Short and Scarface. In February of 2007 she independantly released her previously recorded album which was still timeless after 7 years and "The World Revolves Around Judi Jetsunn" was a breath of fresh air to the industry and the indie scene in particular. Judi then reincarnated herself once again into “Sibil the Unsivil.”, a spin off of the thriller made into a movie starring Sally Field derived from the original book based on a girl with 16 personalities. Sibil has 6 personalities on her musical project describing herself as multi-faceted and not want to be pigeonholed into one style or image. So with 6 personalities she could jump into any mood for any song and be anybody she feels that day. Now taking her destiny into her own hands, Sibil brings along her siblings for the ride.
She introduces her sophomore album entitled “The Siblings of Sibil Part 1” on her birthday, September 27th, 2007. This album is a breakdown of her six known personalities consisting of Raa-D, Judi Jetsunn, Rozetta Stone, Jetti Stone, Sandy Brown, and Sibil (the nucleus of the project.) Sibil also introduces her daughter on the album. Lucky Charm sings, raps, and laces a few tracks on her mother’s sophomore album. The combination of versatile lyrics, hot production, and unique concepts make this album exceptional and beyond unique. She has the help of her extraordinarily talented team including: DJ E-Z Money, Diz, Spyder (118 studio), Duce, and Big Joe who is best known for the music on the Dr. Pepper commercial with LL Cool J and Run DMC, just to name some producers. Her label advisor T.T. Coone played a major role in launching off the project as well.
As the CEO of her own label “Unique Entertainment,” with Errin Lipford as the company president, Sibil's duties have far exceed being just an emcee. She now has a group of emcees on her label including her daughter, "Lucky Charm" who is also the jr. executive of the label, "Prez Pay Me", who is the company's president but features as an artist as well, and The D.A.K. out of Gainseville, G.A. who is a heavy hitter on the team. On top of that she's started a production team under the Unique Entertainment umbrella known as "The Zodiac Killa'z" with Demo as the head. Demo is the backbone of the new sound of the crew which combined are known as, "The U.E.All Starz:" and they are currently preparing to release their first compilation album featuring artists from all over the country. This is truly an All Star Team!
Sibil was also was just recently awarded the great honor of having her song entitled "What If" published into the international library of poetry, which is was published in the summer of 2007. On top of everything mentioned Sibil is attending college as a journalism major and will be launching off her own talkradio show this year that she will host with her daughter and touch on topics on everything from teen issues to women in hip hop. Sibil is also available for ghostwriting, personal appearances, radio, t.v., film, commercials.
