Stone Band

Stone band emerged in the year 2000 where the members met at school in Dobsonville (PELMAMA ACADEMY OF MUSIC) where Stone gained their experience through performances held at the school shows until they were called for a bigger event at Mega Music House to showcase their music in connection with SARA (South African Roadies Association) in 2002 Stone Band collaborated with MXO during performances and helped working on his album.

In 2003 Stone was booked to perform at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz in Newtown. 2004-2005 Stone earned it’s recognition through performing in pubs and restaurants around Soweto, the likes of The Rock, Sakhumuzi, Morris Pub, Room 112 & Mimi’s.

2006 Stone band collaborated with other young artists where Stone worked with an orchestra, a brass section and a choir directed by Themba Mkhize & Mom Sibongile Khumalo at Sun City Super Bowl in a show which was hosted by Soul on Turf. Stone was invited to showcase in Jazz clubs such as Kippies sharing the stage with Sipho hot stix Mabuse, Bassline & Horror Cafe'. On the 8th October 06 Stone shared the stage with Zuiderwind a collaboration band from Belgium, where Stone was even booked to share the stage with some of South African Jazz leaders such as Malombo Orchestra led by Phillip Tabane and Vusi Khumalo at the Soweto Arts Festival on the 17th of December 2006
