Biography
Born to Guyanese artist GPAD, of the musical group VOTSEE, and an African American mother whose father is Carribean, Prince Sundiata Matthew Dover( aka SMD ) had known all along that he likes singing, but just hadn't thought he actually had the talent for it until he moved to So Cal to live with his father at age 11.
After hearing his son sing along with the popular songs over the radio,GPAD became convinced that he heard something special in the kid's voice and style of flow. So he sat down one afternoon and wrote the lyrics to "So Doggone Fine" from the point of view of an eleven-year-old. The next day, before the inspired father could show off his new creation,SMD had a surprise of his own. "I think I got a thing for this girl in my class," he revealed, and further added, "and I don't think she's ever had a boyfriend."
"This is uncanny," GPAD recalled, realizing he had actually written the very same sentiments in the fictional song for his son. So he took SMD immediately into his home studio and put him to work on recording the song. And so it was that a new star was born!
The above songs are not yet mixed and mastered. They are just practice sessions. "Doggone Fine" will be included in the upcoming album "VOTSEE VIVE!" by the group VOTSEE.
This 20-song album will be in stores later this year. Don't miss it!
