The Black Orkid
Biography
A unique group of artists rising from the grass roots of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Brothers, Mike (Drums) and Jody Busch (Guitar), originated The Black Orkid in 2003, later in the summer of 2004, Phil Pizano (Bassist) joined the scene. The three will go on to form the nucleus of the band.

Under going several line up changes and auditioning dozens of very talented artists to fill the second guitar and front man positions. It wasn't until March of 2006, that front man Jason Pieczynski (long time friend of the Busch brothers) entered into the mix.

Jason was exactly what the then three piece was looking for to front the band. Chris Ruth (Guitarist) followed soon after in June of 2006.

November, 2007, "Phil Pizano" gracefully stepped down from his position in The Black Orkid. Phil, for his own reasons has honorably and respectfully passed the torch to musical veteran, and friend of the band, "Corey Kime" (Bassist).

The band was now complete...Ever growing it's musical presents.

It was exactly what they were all looking for, no rock star attitudes, no drug, or alcohol issues. Just five guys that want to make great music. The members have played with such acts as, "Magnus", "Stalemate", "Burial Ground", "Tapus", and "End of the Grey".

All members, proud to say they were nourished by the lavish roots of the rich Pennsylvania underground Hardcore and Punk Rock scene.

The Black Orkid truly has an original sound. Playing from heart and soul, sounding like no other. Portraying their own style which they have musically matured while still grasping the raw roots from which they have bloomed.

Powerful songs. Great vocalist. Great band too. The kind of stuff we'd like to hear more often. A 5 & greetz from 3 belgian rockers who don't surf.
