Pop. Lets examine this abbreviation. It stands for popular. The reason it's so popular is because many different people like it. However, not everyone likes rock, R & B, or blues, but most people like at least one of the three. So why not make music with something for everyone? Mixing generes to create pop rock music enjoyed even by those you thought they didn't like pop music. This is the philosophy used by Travis Seuren when writing his music. I GREW up just outside of Philadelphia, PA. And have known I could sing for as long as I can remember. When I was about ten my friends and I built a studio into our tree house. Unfortunately all we had were musical toys but that didn’t stop us from having fun. One day when I was in my teen years my mother showed my how to project my voice. She did this by pressing on my stomach while I was singing. And just like that I learned how to sing louder and clearer . At the age of 21, I started listening to classics like Stevie Wonder . Naturally your going to sing along, but one day I realized I was hitting notes I had never dreamed of and my talent began to grow. At the age of 24, I won the Philly's Next Hot Shot contest and was instantly hooked on the stage high. I was given some tracks to write to and quickly discovered my song writing ability. I was able to put more of emotion into my voice when the song stemmed from personal experience
