Biography
The pivotal axis of Walker-Nash is the partnership between Helen Walker (lead vocals) and Murray Nash (rhythm guitar, supporting vocals). The pair have been a musical force for some time and are responsible for the band's original material.Helen's superb voice is carried along Murray Nash - Click for a larger imageby Murray's solid guitar work and complemented by his supporting vocals.
Singer/songwriters above all else, predominantly performing their own music, but also stamping their unique mark on some carefully chosen standards, the sound they make has been compared to: Alison Krauss, Marianne Faithful, Gillian Welch, Ry Cooder and The Cowboy Junkies. And they’re not afraid to incorporate Bluegrass influences alongside their Country, Folk, and Blues roots.
The third member of the duo is Mr Julian Lewis. Biker, beardy and exceptional guitarist, Julian (Ju to his friends) is also an adept sound recordist and engineer, adding colour and depth to both live performance and Walker-Nash on CD.
At the end of the day, Walker-Nash play songs with words…
Which, coincidentally, is the name of their latest album. Songs With Words features: 11 Tracks Including the mid-western big ballad sound of 'Footsteps' and full studio recordings of 'Kiss The Sky' and 'My Guy', with tracks like 'Air of No Confidence' and 'Little Girl' dishing out some edgy social comment.
